Persistent Systems Limited is seeking a Senior .NET Backend Developer in Pune, India. You will design and maintain scalable backends using C# and ASP.NET Core, build REST/WebSocket APIs, and develop microservices with cloud deployments on Azure and AWS.

You will implement event-driven patterns, caching with Redis, and database work with PostgreSQL and MongoDB while optimizing performance and ensuring security and observability.

We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET Backend Developer with strong expertise in ASP.NET Core, API development, cloud technologies, and modern backend architectures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems that power enterprise applications and real-time collaboration platforms. The role requires hands-on experience in backend development, cloud-native technologies, event-driven architectures, database technologies, DevOps practices, and application performance optimization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, deploy, and support robust backend solutions.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using C# and ASP.NET Core.
• Build high-performance REST APIs and WebSocket APIs for enterprise applications and real-time collaboration platforms.
• Develop secure, resilient, and maintainable microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Implement event-driven solutions using Azure Service Bus, SignalR, and messaging frameworks.
• Deploy and manage backend services across AWS and Azure cloud environments.
• Develop caching strategies using Redis to improve application performance and scalability.
• Design and optimize database solutions using PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Monitor application health, availability, and performance using CloudWatch and observability tools.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis to ensure system reliability.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and DevOps best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate backend services with React-based applications.
• Optimize system performance through code improvements, database tuning, and infrastructure enhancements.
• Participate in architecture discussions, sprint planning, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
• Ensure adherence to security standards, coding guidelines, and software engineering best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and support procedures.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering excellence initiatives.

Expertise You’ll Bring:

• 6?10 years of experience in backend software development using C# and .NET technologies.
• Strong hands-on expertise in C# and ASP.NET Core application development.
• Extensive experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Hands-on experience implementing WebSocket-based communication and real-time collaboration capabilities.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, asynchronous programming, and scalable design patterns.
• Experience working with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud-native application deployment and operational best practices.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong experience with Redis caching and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL and relational database systems.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of database design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience building event-driven architectures using Azure Service Bus and SignalR.
• Understanding of distributed systems, messaging platforms, and asynchronous processing models.
• Experience with application monitoring, observability, logging, and diagnostics tools.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, API security, OAuth, JWT, and secure coding practices.
• Familiarity with React, TypeScript, and frontend integration concepts.
• Exposure to Chart.js and data visualization frameworks is desirable.
• Experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies.
• Exposure to automated testing frameworks and quality engineering practices.
• Experience with analytics platforms such as PostHog is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
