Job summary

Rishabh Software in Vadodara, Gujarat, seeks an experienced mobile software engineer to design, develop and maintain a single codebase across iOS and Android using Angular, Ionic and Capacitor. You will integrate REST APIs, implement secure authentication flows with AWS Cognito, and manage app releases through Azure DevOps and store submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 6–10 years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years shipping production mobile apps to App Store and Google Play.
• Strong Angular (16+; current codebase Angular 20) with TypeScript, RxJS, reactive forms, standalone components and component-based architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Ionic/Capacitor (or Cordova) hybrid mobile development and native plugin integration.
• Proficiency with HTML5, SCSS/CSS, Bootstrap, and responsive mobile-first UI implementation.
• Experience consuming debugging REST/JSON APIs and token-based authentication (OAuth2/OIDC/JWT).
• Experience with Android Studio/Gradle and Xcode, app signing, provisioning, store release mechanics.
• Experience with Git workflows, CI/CD (Azure DevOps), and Jasmine/Karma for testing.
• Familiarity with Jira/Confluence and Azure DevOps for build, release and documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication, and ability to work with stakeholders in different time zones.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain mobile app features from a single TypeScript codebase (Angular + Ionic + Capacitor).
• Integrate REST APIs exposed by Java/Spring services, including authentication, billing, payments and notifications.
• Work with Capacitor/Cordova plugins for biometric auth, secure storage, push notifications, and in-app browser features.
• Handle AWS Cognito/Amplify authentication flows including MFA and token refresh.
• Build and release apps through Azure DevOps pipelines and support App Store/Play Store submissions.
• Write and maintain unit tests (Karma/Jasmine) and follow ESLint/Prettier standards; participate in code review.
• Diagnose production defects across the mobile stack on devices and simulators.
• Ensure accessibility, performance and secure-coding standards for a public-facing utility payments app.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide estimates and status updates.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical docs and release notes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop and maintain features in the mobile application (Angular + Ionic + Capacitor) for both iOS and Android from a single TypeScript codebase.
• Implement and consume REST APIs exposed by the Java/Spring services layer, including authentication, account and billing, payments, wallet, paperless billing and notification preferences.
• Integrate native device capabilities through Capacitor and Cordova plugins, including biometric authentication, secure storage, push/status bar/splash, in-app browser and deep links.
• Work with AWS Cognito / Amplify authentication flows, including registration, password reset, multi-factor authentication and token refresh.
• Build and release the applications through the teams Azure DevOps pipelines (Gradle/Android App Bundle for Android, Xcode for iOS), and support App Store and Google Play submission, signing, provisioning and store review.
• Write and maintain unit tests (Karma/Jasmine), meet linting and formatting standards (ESLint/Prettier) and participate in peer code review.
• Diagnose and fix production defects across the mobile stack, including device-specific and platform-version-specific issues, using logs and reproduction on physical devices and simulators.
• Ensure delivered work meets accessibility, responsiveness, performance and secure-coding expectations appropriate to a public-facing utility payment application.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, reviews and retrospectives) and provide realistic estimates and clear status.
• Contribute to technical documentation, release notes and knowledge transfer, and mentor less experienced engineers on the team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 to 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 4 years building and shipping production mobile applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play.
• Strong, demonstrable experience with modern Angular (Angular 16 or later; the current codebase is on Angular 20), including TypeScript, RxJS, reactive forms, standalone components and component-based architecture. This is a firm requirement; the mobile application is an Angular application.
• Hands-on experience with Ionic and Capacitor (or Cordova) hybrid mobile development, including native plugin integration and platform build tooling.
• Proficiency with HTML5, SCSS/CSS, Bootstrap and responsive, mobile-first UI implementation.
• Practical experience consuming and debugging REST/JSON APIs, and a working understanding of token-based authentication (OAuth2/OIDC/JWT).
• Experience with the native build toolchains (Android Studio/Gradle and Xcode), including app signing, provisioning profiles and store release mechanics.
• Experience with Git-based branching workflows in Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, and unit testing frameworks such as Jasmine/Karma.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery and tooling: Jira and Confluence for tracking and documentation, Azure DevOps for build and release.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication, and the ability to work independently with stakeholders in a different time zone.

Nice to have

• Experience in utilities, billing, payments or other regulated/high-volume consumer domains.
• Familiarity with AWS Cognito and the AWS Amplify libraries.
• Exposure to a Java/Spring backend sufficient to trace an issue across the API boundary.
• Experience integrating third-party payment or billing vendor SDKs, hosted payment pages or iframes.
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and mobile application security practices (OWASP MASVS or similar).
• Experience with push notifications, offline behavior, or mobile analytics/crash reporting tooling.
• Experience with Azure DevOps release pipelines for mobile artifacts (App Store Connect / Google Play publishing).
• Prior experience taking over and stabilizing an existing codebase from an outgoing team.
