Job summary

Avegenhealth is hiring a mobile software engineer to join a team building native iOS apps in the cognitive and neuro-health space. You will start with mobile feature development and progress toward broader technical ownership, contributing to an admin portal and backend services.

You will work on building features in Swift, owning problems end to end, and using AI responsibly to draft, review, and ship changes while maintaining security and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in building and shipping production software.
• Strong native iOS experience in Swift with App Store/TestFlight releases.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, authentication and offline patterns.
• Proficient with Git, CI/CD, testing and code reviews.
• Comfortable with AI-assisted development and distributed teams.

About the Role

You will join a team building native iOS and Android apps in the cognitive and neuro-health space, supported by an admin portal and backend services. The role starts with mobile feature development and moves toward broader technical ownership.

What you will do

• Build mobile features in Swift and Kotlin, contributing to sprint planning and delivery.
• Own problems end to end : understand the existing system, implement, test and release changes.
• Use AI responsibly to navigate code, draft and review changes, and ship faster without compromising correctness, security or cost.
• Keep quality high through readable code, tests, reviews, and careful handling of health and research data.
• Work well across teams , joining evening IST stand‑ups, coordinating with partner engineers, and raising blockers early.

Must-have

• 3+ years building and shipping production software.
• Experience of working with a global team
• Strong native iOS experience in Swift , with at least one App Store or TestFlight release.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, authentication, async/offline patterns and app architecture .
• Fluent with Git, CI/CD, testing and code review .
• Comfortable with AI-assisted development , or able to adopt it quickly.
• Able to work with existing production systems , communicate clearly and take ownership in a distributed, partner‑facing team.

• React Native or native Android exposure.
• Experience with regulated, healthcare or research software.
