Job summary

Bechtel in Chennai seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and engineer chilled water, cooling water and utility systems for international projects. You will handle conceptual through detailed design (LOD 100–400) and coordinate with global teams.

Ideal candidates have 11+ years of experience, a Mechanical Engineering degree, and strong English skills. Visa details should be disclosed if available. Travel to sites and vendor facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of relevant experience.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).
• Valid visa details required, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare PFDs, schematics and P&IDs; data sheets for projects.
• Review deliverables of process packages and design criteria.
• Perform design calculations for flow and pressure drops.
• Develop mechanical data sheets and requisitions; review quotes.
• Coordinate with global offices and multiple disciplines.
• Provide technical assistance to HVAC personnel and vendors.
• Travel to support activities at sites and supplier facilities.
• Support EPC/EPCM/FEED project execution modes.

Job Summary:

Design / Selection / Engineering of Chilled water and Cooling water system, and other Utility system. Candidate should have worked for execution of Basic/Conceptual Engineering, FEED, EPCM, EPC modes of execution for international projects.

Candidate shall have technical knowledge and experience in performing engineering and coordinating these assignments from conceptual stage (LOD 100) to detailed design (LOD 400).

Candidate having design experience in Data center, Semiconductor facility, and Battery manufacturing will be preferred.

Major Responsibilities:

• Preparation of PFDs, schematics/P&IDs, Data sheets. Commenting/review on the same for completeness


• Participating in IDC process. Interaction with Engineering disciplines, Clients / PMC, Bidders / Vendors


• Review of deliverables of Process Package


• Design Criteria and System Descriptions.


• Design calculations for flow and pressure-drop.


• Design, preparation of Mechanical Data Sheets /Engineering drawings, Material Requisition. Review of Quotes, assessing deviations,raising Technical Queries, Technical Evaluation, Purchase Requisition


• Review of Vendor Prints


• Interact with Global offices, execute work on workshare mode.


• Assist project/proposal activities


• Coordinate technical issues with other departments on projects


• Develop standard documentation for use on projects


• Implement/Capture Lesson Learnt


• Providing Inputs for Progress reporting


• Provides technical assistance to other HVAC personnel


• Travel to assist activities at other engineering offices, supplier’s works, construction sites


• Engineering for working on EPC/EPCM, FEED and other modes of project execution

Education and Experience Requirements:

• 11+ years of Relevant experience


• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university


• The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities. Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language.


• Candidate to mention valid visa available including detail of Type, expiry date. Denial of USA visa earlierat any stage need to be indicated
