Job summary

Worley is seeking a Senior Marine Pipelines Engineer to lead subsea pipeline and flowline systems design and deliver projects for clients within the offshore energy sector.

You will guide a team, manage budgets, review reports and drawings, and interface with clients while applying international design codes and FE analyses to ensure robust engineering outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• 12+ years’ experience in subsea pipeline design.
• Experience with Finite Element Method (FEA) and proficiency in Abaqus/Ansys is advantageous.
• Ability to perform design and calculation independently and interpret results.
• Strong knowledge of structural, soil and fluid mechanics.

• Oversee data-centric pipeline engineering tools and interfaces with related disciplines.

The Role

As a Senior Marine Pipelines Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

• Leading engineering delivering of subsea pipeline and flowline systems design in accordance with international design codes.
• Oversight of data-centric pipeline engineering tools.
• Ability to provide guidance/instruction to team on subsea pipeline and flowline design aspects such as mechanical design, on-bottom stability, buckling assessments, spanning etc.
• Understanding of typical offshore pipeline/flowline construction aspects.
• Managing interfaces with flow assurance and subsea systems disciplines within Worley Offshore Energy.
• Reviewing design reports, drawings and presentations.
• Oversee projects, manage budgets, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Client interfacing / support to engineering manager.
• Performing and checking subsea pipeline and flowline design and analysis in compliance with international design codes.
• Operation of data-centric pipeline engineering tools.

Other Attributes

• Ability to execute subsea pipeline and flowline design aspects such as mechanical design, on-bottom stability, buckling assessments, spanning etc.
• Understanding of typical offshore pipeline/flowline construction aspects.
• Interfacing with flow assurance and subsea systems disciplines within Worley Offshore Energy.
• Preparing design reports, drawings and presentations.
• Oversee projects, manage budgets, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• 12+ years’ experience in subsea pipeline design (only experience in subsea pipeline design shall be counted).
• Experience with the Finite Element Method and proficiency in FEA software (Abaqus, Ansys) is advantageous.
• Ability to perform design and calculation independently or with minimal guidance and, interpret and explain the results and findings of the analyses.
• Good knowledge and fundamental understanding on structural mechanics, soil mechanics and fluid mechanics.
• Clear communication skills, able to build relationships across different cultures, collaborative across various parts of the organization.
• Well-developed writing skills for reporting and documenting engineering studies and analyses in the English language.
• Experience in developing delivery plans and CTRs.
• Good knowledge and fundamental understanding on structural mechanics, soil mechanics and fluid mechanics.
• Clear communication skills, able to build relationships across different cultures, collaborative across various parts of the organization.
• Well-developed writing skills for reporting and documenting engineering studies and analyses in the English language.
