Job summary

Nordex Group in Chennai, India is seeking a Supply Chain Plant Manager to oversee local material management, logistics platform, plant warehouse and production planning & control. You will coordinate with various areas to guarantee supplies and maintain reliable material inventories for maximum efficiency.

You will lead SAP MM/PP processes, implement Lean and continuous improvement, and drive BOM cost optimization while collaborating with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Sourcing

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of experience in Supply Chain in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain planning, inventory management, warehousing, logistics.
• Hands-on experience with SAP MM/PP, MRP, and inventory planning processes.
• Experience in supplier management, alternate source development, BOM cost optimization, and risk mitigation.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate production planning, material management, plant warehouse and logistic platform areas, ensuring departmental KPIs are consistently achieved.
• Manage and organize supply and logistics for materials and finished goods until storage area.
• Manage resources, including staff and equipment, to support plant warehouse and logistics activities within a given budget.
• Plan and coordinate demand, deliveries to suppliers, inventory, and production planning for reliable material availability.
• Oversee warehousing, distribution, and transportation to execute inbound logistics tasks.
• Coordinate with other departments to guarantee on-time supplies and proper delivery of finished goods.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce inefficiencies.
• Support BOM cost optimization and localization initiatives.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Sourcing to achieve business objectives.
• Lead SAP MM/PP process improvements and inventory management tools.
• Drive Lean initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Lead, coach and develop the Supply Chain team.
• Proven experience in ensuring uninterrupted material availability to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.

Job Purpose

Working together as part of the Manufacturing Supply Chain team, reporting to the Plant Manager or Head of Nacelle plants “Country”, the Supply Chain Plant Manager is responsible for managing the entire range of supply chain functions, including local material management, logistics platform, plant warehouse, and production planning & control.

You would coordinate with various areas to guarantee supplies and maintain reliable material inventories, ensuring efficient supply and logistics operations and thereby optimizing the plant's supply chain for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate production planning, material management, plant warehouse and logistic platform areas, ensuring departmental KPIs are consistently achieved.
• Manage and organize supply and logistics work for materials and finished goods until storage area.
• Manage resources, including staff and equipment, to support plant warehouse and logistic platform activities within a given budget.
• Plan and coordinate demand, including the launch of delivery schedules to suppliers, inventory, and production planning, to ensure reliable material availability, mitigate potential shortages, and maintain a consistent material flow.
• Oversee warehousing, distribution, and transportation to execute inbound logistics tasks
• Coordinate with other departments and areas to guarantee supplies on time and in full and operational alignment to ensure the proper delivery of finished goods.
• Ensure adherence to efficient processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives to avoid any sustainably inefficiencies.
• Implement and maintain standards and ensure compliance with HSE guidelines within the team.
• Support BOM cost optimization through alternate sourcing, localization, value engineering, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Sourcing teams to achieve business objectives.
• Lead SAP MM/PP process improvements and ensure effective utilization of planning and inventory management tools.
• Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize supply chain performance.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Supply Chain team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Proven experience in ensuring uninterrupted material availability to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.

Experience & Skills Required

• 8–15 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Production Planning, Procurement, Warehousing, and Inbound/Outbound Logistics in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in ensuring uninterrupted material availability to support production and customer delivery commitments.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain planning, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and material management.
• Hands-on experience with SAP MM/PP, MRP, and inventory planning processes.
• Experience in supplier management, alternate source development, BOM cost optimization, and supply chain risk mitigation.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to balance strategic objectives with operational execution
