Job description

GCL: E Introduction to role:

Are you ready to turn complex operations data and processes into decisions that accelerate medicines to patients? As Senior Manager, Operations, GBS Process & Analytics Services, you will be responsible for a high-value portfolio and lead the delivery of process and analytics solutions that free capacity, reduce risk, and improve experience across global operations. Based in Lisbon, Chennai, or Warsaw, you will partner with senior leaders across our operations landscape to realize measurable business outcomes at speed and scale. This role blends strategic customer leadership with hands‑on delivery. You will find opportunities worth tens of millions annually, build robust cases, and orchestrate multi-service solutions spanning process re‑engineering, cognitive automation, and advanced analytics. Can you envision being measured by verified outcomes, adoption, and collaborator advocacy rather than results alone? Join a team where rigor, pace, and impact are the norm—and where your work directly chips in to how we serve patients worldwide.

Accountabilities:
  • Strategic Collaborator Leadership: Build and sustain positive relationships with senior collaborators across operations; convert relationships into long‑term sponsorships and co‑owned value roadmaps aligned to strategic objectives.
  • Portfolio Ownership and Value Realization: Take end‑to‑end ownership of a $200k–$2m initiative portfolio— from opportunity identification and prioritization to benefits verification—delivering validated financial and non‑financial outcomes, including savings, productivity uplift, recharge targets, and NPS.
  • Project and Program Delivery Excellence: Lead full lifecycle delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives; define clear achievements and success metrics, allocate resources effectively, and ensure projects land on time, on budget, and to agreed quality standards.
  • Drive discovery by using process and task mining with data from SAP, Veeva, and Salesforce platforms. Develop and implement process re‑engineering, rules‑based and intelligent automation, and custom workflows. Transform analytical outputs into practical decisions, such as closing launch timeline gaps.
  • Risk Management and Governance: Proactively surface and mitigate risks, resolve conflicts, and make informed decisions to maintain momentum; embed quality assurance, governance, and continuous improvement practices to sustain value.
  • Cross‑Functional Alignment: Lead alignment forums and co‑creation workshops across Operations and adjacent commercial functions (Sales, Market Access, Medical, Marketing) to ensure solutions are tailored to functional needs and deliver enterprise value; coordinate with IT and enterprise service partners on capacity and delivery.
  • Change Adoption and Sustainment: Apply change management to drive adoption and behavior change; monitor important metrics post‑implementation and iterate to secure sustained benefits and collaborator confidence.
  • Talent Coaching and Culture: Provide mentor and task leadership to Managers across domains; promote standard processes and role‑model AstraZeneca values to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
Essential Skills/Experience:
  • Confirmed professional services and consultative sales experience with strong success in strategic business partnering, relationship management, and new business development.
  • Strong intuition for business with experience establishing and growing trusted senior stakeholder partnerships passionate about long‑term value creation.
Industry & Domain Knowledge:
  • Extensive expertise in Pharmaceutical Commercial and Medical Operations (including MLR, product launches, brand dynamics, and supply chain management), with a consistent track record to tailor processes and solutions to diverse market environments, regulatory compliance standards, and varying levels of digital maturity.
  • Track record delivering significant financial savings ($M ) and global process optimization initiatives (>$10m portfolio).
  • Experience with tools designed to improve processes, including Process Mining, Process Re‑Engineering, Robotic Process Automation, Business Process Management.
  • Strong understanding of advanced analytics, AI, and data science applications in business processes, such as predictive and prescriptive analytics, process intelligence, decision intelligence, and applied machine learning, with the ability to translate complex analytical outputs into actionable business insights.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant rigor or equivalent years of experience.
Leadership & Delivery:
  • Experience leading complex, cross‑functional global projects/programs in a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Great foundation in project management methodologies and standard processes. Experienced with all project life cycle phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
  • Apply critical thinking to overcome challenges, identify solutions, and maintain project progress. Adapt to change, handle ambiguity, perform risk assessments, implement contingency plans, and use organizational change strategies.
  • Validated ability to work optimally in multi‑cultural, global contexts with cultural adaptability.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
