Job summary

JPMorgan Chase, within the Infrastructure Platforms group, seeks a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to provide technical coaching and leadership across multiple teams. You will guide engineers through complex tasks and influence architectural decisions.

You will help advance team culture, drive AI-assisted development practices, and shape SDLC processes to improve delivery speed, quality, and resilience across the organization.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience leading software teams.
• Hands-on expertise in Python, Django, Flask.
• Ability to guide and coach teams to achieve strategic goals.
• Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience leading multi-team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools, including governance/ways of working, measuring outcomes, and ensuring secure handling of sensitive inputs/outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, resiliency/security implications, and control expectations; ability to coach managers/leads and influence leaders on safe scaling patterns.
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, oversight, and coaching for entry-level to mid-level software engineers working on basic to moderately complex tasks.
• Be accountable for decisions impacting resources, budget, tactical operations, and process implementation.
• Advocate firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate issues to execute a book of work, escalating as necessary.
• Sets and scales operating practices for enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation across multiple teams to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational outcomes; establishes measurable expectations and ensures reuse of proven patterns.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to drive efficiency and support capacity unlock initiatives across teams, prioritizing reuse of existing firm technology assets.
• Provide input to leadership on budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality.
• Foster a culture of opportunity and respect for team members.
