Job summary

Novartis in Hyderabad seeks a Senior Finance Business Partner to drive financial planning, forecasting, performance management and investment governance for a US Functional Capability. You will translate strategy into actionable financial plans, optimize resource allocation, and identify risks and opportunities.

You will lead continuous improvement through automation and responsible AI adoption while coaching a BPA Analyst and collaborating with global teams to deliver executive-ready insights

Qualifications

• CA (Chartered Accountant) or MBA in Finance is required or equivalent.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in Finance Business Partnering, FP&A, BPA, or related roles.
• Strong expertise in planning, forecasting, performance management, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Finance Business Partner for assigned Functional Capability stakeholders.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Partner with business leaders to evaluate risks, opportunities, investments, and resource allocation decisions.
• Translate business priorities into financial plans and performance measures.
• Lead annual planning, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, and budget management activities.
• Ensure timely, accurate planning and forecasting submissions.
• Monitor performance, identify risks/opportunities, and propose corrective actions.
• Deliver financial reporting, variance analysis, and executive-ready insights.
• Evaluate business cases, investments, and resource requests.

Key accountabilities

Business Partnering & Decision Support

• Serve as the primary Finance Business Partner for assigned Functional Capability stakeholders.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Partner with business leaders to evaluate risks, opportunities, investments, and resource allocation decisions.
• Translate business priorities into financial plans and performance measures.

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management

• Lead annual planning, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, and budget management activities.

Process Excellence & Innovation

• Drive simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement of finance processes.

• Support adoption of best practices across BPA activities.

• Provide coaching, development, and day-to-day leadership to a BPA Analyst.

Education and Experience requirements

• CA (Chartered Accountant) or MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in Finance Business Partnering, FP&A, BPA, Commercial Finance, or related finance roles.
• Strong expertise in planning, forecasting, performance management, and financial analysis.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and support strategic decision-making.
• Experience working in a global, matrix environment.
• Experience leveraging and/or developing advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to enhance financial insights, improve process efficiency, and strengthen business decision support.
• Prior people leadership, coaching, or team management experience preferred.
