We are looking for a qualified CA professional to lead end-to-end direct tax compliance, tax accounting, assessments, reporting, and regulatory matters, ensuring accuracy, timely closure, and adherence to applicable tax laws and statutory requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Direct Tax Compliance & Assessments
- Lead corporate income tax compliance, including tax computations, return filings, Tax Audit Reports, Transfer Pricing documentation, and quarterly TDS returns.
- Oversee income tax assessments, scrutiny proceedings, notices, and litigation matters, including drafting responses and coordinating with external tax consultants.
- Review income tax computations, deferred tax workings, 26AS reconciliations, depreciation schedules, and other tax-related workings.
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all applicable direct tax regulations.
2. Tax Accounting, Reporting & Controls
- Lead monthly and quarterly tax closure and reporting in line with statutory and internal requirements.
- Review current tax and deferred tax provisions and ensure appropriate accounting and reconciliation.
- Prepare and review MIS, tax dashboards, and management reports for the Tax Head and senior management.
- Drive tax controls, compliance reviews, and process improvements to minimize tax risks and ensure accuracy.
- Handle statutory and internal audit queries and ensure timely resolution.
3. Tax Automation & Process Digitization
- Drive SAP enhancements and automation initiatives related to direct tax compliance and reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate SAP master-data updates, including vendor tax details, TAN updates, Form 16A, lower deduction certificates, and other tax-related requirements.
- Identify opportunities to automate tax processes, improve reporting accuracy, and strengthen compliance controls.
4. Tax Advisory & Regulatory Updates
- Monitor changes in direct tax laws, regulations, circulars, notifications, and judicial developments.
- Assess the impact of tax law changes on business operations and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders.
- Partner with Finance, Commercial, Procurement, Legal, and other business teams on tax-related matters.
- Coordinate with external consultants and advisors on complex tax matters, assessments, litigation, and advisory requirements.
5. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Take ownership of end-to-end direct tax matters and ensure timely delivery of all compliance and reporting requirements.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, tax authorities, auditors, and external consultants.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on complex taxation matters.
- Drive process improvements and strengthen governance across direct tax operations.

Candidate Profile
- Qualified CA with minimum 12 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in Direct Taxation, preferably within a large corporate/industry environment.
- Strong experience in corporate tax compliance, assessments, tax accounting, and litigation matters.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP is mandatory.
- Experience in managing tax audits, assessments, notices, and coordination with tax consultants.
- Strong understanding of applicable direct tax laws and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to independently manage complex tax matters and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
