Job summary

NCDEX seeks a Senior Business Analyst to lead the business analysis for mission-critical Equity Cash, Equity Index, and Derivatives trading platforms. You will align strategic objectives, regulatory mandates, and technology solutions while influencing senior stakeholders.

You will shape requirements, oversee architecture gaps, and manage multiple large-scale programmes in a capital markets environment, ensuring smooth delivery and market readiness.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in business analysis within the financial markets domain.
• Significant exposure to Equity Cash, Equity Index, and Derivatives trading systems, preferably in an exchange or leading brokerage tech environment.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale technology programmes in capital markets.

• Lead strategic requirement definition for trading, clearing, and settlement systems.
• Oversee solution architecture, gap analysis, and alignment with business objectives.

Job description

Job Purpose

• To lead the business analysis function for mission critical Equity Cash, Equity Index, and Derivatives trading systems, ensuring alignment between strategic business objectives, regulatory requirements, and technology solutions. This role demands deep capital markets expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to influence decision making at senior levels while driving the successful delivery of high impact trading platform initiatives.

Key Result Areas

Strategic Requirement Leadership

• Engage with senior business stakeholders, regulators, and market participants to define and prioritise strategic requirements for trading, clearing, and settlement systems.
• Translate complex market structure changes, regulatory mandates, and business strategies into actionable system requirements.

Solution Architecture & Gap Analysis

• Lead the analysis of functional and technical specifications, identifying gaps and recommending optimal solutions that balance performance, scalability, and compliance.
• Partner with solution architects to ensure system designs meet both business and technical objectives.

Vendor & Partner Governance

• Oversee vendor relationships at a strategic level, ensuring contractual compliance, delivery quality, and integration with internal systems.
• Negotiate and influence vendor roadmaps to align with exchange priorities.

Programme & Project Oversight

• Provide leadership across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring milestones are met, risks are mitigated, and dependencies are managed.
• Act as escalation point for critical delivery issues.

Quality Assurance & Market Readiness

• Approve test strategies and oversee UAT for highavailability, lowlatency trading systems.
• Lead participation in exchange mock trading sessions, market rehearsals, and golive readiness assessments.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

• Serve as the primary liaison between executive management, business units, technology teams, and regulators.
• Drive change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new systems and processes.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Identify opportunities for automation, process optimisation, and adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML in market surveillance, advanced analytics).
• Benchmark systems and processes against global best practices in equity and derivatives markets.

Preferred Profile: -

Educational Qualification

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CBAP, Agile BA, NCFM Capital Markets) preferred.

Experience

• 10+ years of progressive experience in business analysis within the financial markets domain.
• Significant exposure to Equity Cash, Equity Index, and Derivatives trading systems, preferably in an exchange, clearing corporation, or leading brokerage technology environment.
• Proven track record of leading largescale, highimpact technology programmes in capital markets.

Skills Required

• Expert understanding of trade life cycle, market microstructure, and clearing/settlement processes.
• Indepth knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., SEBI, IOSCO principles) and compliance requirements for equity and derivatives markets.
• Strong grasp of algorithmic trading, market data protocols, and FIX messaging standards.
• Technical fluency in databases, APIs, integration architectures, and programming languages (Python preferred).
