Job summary

G R Infraprojects Limited is seeking a Project Site Quality In-Charge to lead quality assurance on civil infrastructure projects. The role focuses on implementing robust quality procedures, ensuring adherence to client and company standards, and driving continuous improvements on site.

The incumbent will collaborate with plants, equipment, planning and operations teams to achieve quality targets, manage lab operations, calibration of equipment and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Graduate in B.E./B.Tech Civil Engineering; post graduation in Management/Construction/Transportation/Highway Engineering or equivalent civil stream.
• Minimum 10 years of experience supervising road projects, rail, or high-speed rail projects.

Responsibilities

• Quality Framework and Operations – implement apex quality procedures and inspection standards; guide team to adhere to processes; manage supplier material requirements.
• Quality certifications, compliance and audits – review warranty claims and rejections; design counter-measures to address quality issues; ensure proper calibration and lab maintenance.
• Client Management – coordinate with clients/consultants to resolve non-conformance/conformance issues.
• MIS and Reporting – prepare MPRs for quality issues and share with stakeholders; track supplier performance.
• People Management – develop division capabilities through training and mentoring to meet business needs.

Job description

• The incumbent in this role acts as a project in-charge of quality for a project site with the scope less than INR 1500 crore and drives day-to-day activities with a focus on process optimisation, creating the right design mix and getting necessary approvals on time.
• They are responsible for quality assurance at a project level using techniques that are compliant, cost-effective, best practices in the industry and ensure adherence to the set quality standards both by the client and GRIL team.
• They also need to focus on collaborating with the plants & equipment, planning and operations team to drive quality targets (quality laboratory management with quality certifications and timely calibration of equipment) across GRIL.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Framework and Operations - Ensure implementation of apex quality procedures and inspection standards. Guide the team to adhere to established processes while handling supplier base for material requirements from a mid and long term perspective. Ensure suitable audits are conducted for new supplier selection. Finalise the design mix of materials while ensuring set quality standards.
• Quality certifications, compliance and audits - Ensure adherence to established process for review of warranty claims and rejections with the aim to realize cost benefits. Guide team to design and implement suitable counter-measures to deal with quality related issues. Propose improved guidelines for handling of rejection through the use of analytical techniques. Ensure adoption & adherence to the quality guidelines. Guide the team in translating the feedback from the clients/consultants into actions to other delivery functions and departments to prevent recurrence of quality issues. Implement best practices in the quality audit and inspection methodologies. Manage lab operations, certification / calibration of equipment and maintenance of lab records.
• Client Management - Coordinating with the client and consultants and resolving their issues with respect to non-conformance and conformance reports.
• MIS and Reporting - Review and submit the MPR for all the quality related issues and share the same with the relevant stakeholders. Capture accurate data about the performance of the suppliers as per the defined quality framework and work with operations team to filter the best material suppliers.
• People Management - Ensure the capability development for the division through performance management, training, and mentoring of teams to drive high performance and engagement and enable achievement of current and future business needs.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

• Graduate in (B.E./ B.Tech) Civil Engineering, preferably Post Graduation in Management/ Construction/ Transportation/ Highway Engineering/ Structural Engineering or equivalent specialized stream of Civil engineering.
• Min 10 yrs. of experience in supervision of road projects, rail, metro high speed rail project.
