Position: Senior Machine Learning Engineer – LLM Evaluation / Task Creation (India Based)

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $35/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Design and frame high-quality machine learning tasks and evaluation workflows to improve LLM capabilities.
• Build, optimise, and evaluate machine learning models across NLP, prediction, classification, recommendation, and generative use cases.
• Create and curate robust datasets, ensuring data quality, reproducibility, and meaningful benchmarking.
• Run rapid experimentation cycles, analyse model performance, and iterate based on results.
• Perform advanced feature engineering, data preprocessing, and robustness testing.
• Conduct adversarial testing, bias analysis, and model reliability checks.
• Fine-tune and evaluate transformer-based models where required.
• Maintain clear documentation of datasets, experiments, and modelling decisions.
• Collaborate asynchronously with researchers and engineers on task design and evaluation strategy.

Requirements

• Strong applied experience in machine learning model development or competitive ML environments.
• Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including statistics, optimisation, and model evaluation.
• Experience building reproducible ML pipelines and running structured experiments.
• Familiarity with benchmarking frameworks, scoring methodologies, and evaluation best practices.
• Experience with distributed training, experiment tracking, and cloud platforms.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and algorithmic thinking skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate modelling choices, trade-offs, and results.
• Based in India and fluent in English.
