Job summary

AB InBev APAC is seeking a backend engineer to own the platform’s backend strategy, deployment lifecycle, and scalable ML pipelines. You will ensure modular repos, robust pipelines, and real-time analytics capabilities that support Test & Learn experiments across functions.

You will containerize models with Docker and Azure Container Registry, manage GitHub repos, build CI/CD for models and services, and implement observability, security, and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience with backend engineering for scalable platforms.
• Experience deploying ML models in production.
• Familiarity with Docker, Azure Container Registry, and PySpark.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the backend engineering strategy for scalable platform.
• Lead the deployment lifecycle from model training to deployment and monitoring.
• Develop and maintain a scalable ML pipeline enabling real-time analytics for experiments across functions.
• Optimize and containerize models using Docker and Azure Container Registry; PySpark knowledge required.
• Own and manage the GitHub repository with well-documented, modular code.
• Establish robust CI/CD pipelines for model and service deployments.
• Implement observability layers for data, feature, inference, and pipeline health.
• Ensure security and governance practices for data and model deployment.
• Collaborate with product and software teams to integrate backend with frontend.

• ØOwn the backend engineering strategy for the platform, ensuring repos, pipelines, and modular components are structured for scalable integration with software applications and visualization layers
• ØLead the entire deployment lifecycle, from model training to deployment and monitoring on devices
• ØDevelop, and maintain a scalable ML pipeline that enables real-time analytics for Test & Learn experimentation across business functions
• ØOptimize and containerize models using Docker, and Azure Container Registry (ACR) etc. to ensure efficient execution in constrained environments. PySpark deep understanding is a must.
• ØOwn and manage the GitHub repository, ensuring structured, well-documented, and modularized code for seamless deployments
• ØEstablish robust CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment of models and services
• ØImplement observability layers for data, feature, inference, and pipeline health (e.g., logging, monitoring, alerting), ensuring reliable and quick feedback loops
• ØEnsure compliance with security and governance best practices for data and model deployment in centralized data environments
