Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is hiring a Senior Linux DevOps Engineer in Bengaluru to own high-performance data capture systems and manage the data pipeline that captures, stores and transforms capital markets data.

You will work in a highly operational role with opportunities to shape future growth, deploy containerized apps, and manage deployments, while aligning with LSEG’s standards. Familiarity with US Eastern hours during training and occasional weekend deployments is required.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7+ years of professional experience with Linux (RHEL or derivatives).
• 5+ years scripting experience with Bash and/or Python.
• Significant Ansible experience for automation and provisioning.
• Proficiency with Linux server architecture, performance, and latency tuning.
• Experience deploying containerized apps with Docker/Podman in production.
• Comfort with data copying, scheduling tasks, and Linux daemons.
• Extensive experience with deployments and OS updates, with risk assessment.
• Experience with Git-based pipelines (GitLab/GitHub).
• Basic networking knowledge and ability to interpret Wireshark/tcpdump output.
• Experience with AWS, S3, AWS CLI, and Rsync.
• English proficiency required.
• Willingness to work US Eastern hours for 6 months and some weekends.

Current strategic pursuits

The Senior Linux DevOps Engineer will be responsible for high-performance data capture systems. We have the mission of "Capturing, Storing and Transforming" the world's capital markets data. In this critical role, you’ll be an integral member of a team managing the data pipeline that flows between each of those stages. The role has a large operational component while also requiringsomeone to envision future growth in both utilization and technology selection for the components of work.

Work Qualifications

• 5 to 7+ years of professional experience with Linux, preferably RHEL or RHEL derived distributions (CentOS, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux)
• 5+ years of experience with scripting languages Bash and/or Python
• Significant experience using Ansible to develop and maintain playbooks and roles to automate server provisioning and configuration management
• Proficiency withLinux and an understandingof Linux server architecture and operation including performance and latency tuning
• Experience designing, deploying, and managing containerized applications using Docker, Podman or other containerization technology in production environments
• Should beverycomfortable with data copying, scheduling tasks and Linux daemons
• Extensive experience with application deployments and OS updates, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies for potential failures
• Experience with Git-based version control systems, such as GitLab and/or GitHub and managing pipeline in these products
• Basic networking knowledge and ability to interpret Wireshark/tcpdump capture output li>
• Experience with AWS, S3, AWS CLI, and Rsync
• English proficiency is required
• Must be willing to work US Eastern hours for the first 6 months during initial training
• Must be willing to work on some weekends when needed for deployments
