Role Brief:

The Senior Manager - Legal & Compliance is responsible for overseeing the legal and regulatory compliance activities of the organization. This role involves ensuring that the company operates within the law, adheres to regulations, and mitigates legal risks. The individual in this position will provide strategic legal advice, manage compliance programs, and lead initiatives to protect the company’s interests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for end-to-end Simplilearn group company’s global contract Management in B2B agreements, reseller agreements, MOU’s in commercial engagements, Industry Partners & University partnership agreements, review, redlining and appropriate risk escalations
• Prepare & review nonstandard agreements.
• Working closely with business teams, stakeholders to translate business needs into contractual terms and supporting the team if any contractual dispute arises.
• Demonstrate strong Interpretation skills, review risks and provide language & analysis.
• Draft, review, edit and prepare online terms and conditions for new products/programs to be launched, privacy compliance and other statutory compliance as applicable.
• Working closely with the Engineering teams, and data privacy team to ensure that the applicable Data Privacy Laws such as DPDP, GDPR and US CCPA are complied with, before sharing or receiving personal data.
• Provide Regulatory review and support as applicable in edutech space and allied compliance areas.

Desired Profile:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB), or equivalent legal degree from an accredited institution.
• Licensed to practice law in [jurisdiction] (if applicable).
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably within [industry, e.g., financial services, education, insurance, technology].
• Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Experience managing compliance programs and leading legal teams.
• Proven ability to handle complex legal matters and provide strategic legal advice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to upholding legal and regulatory requirements.
