Job summary

Veolia in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to supervise and coordinate daily activities in a mechanical design team focused on oil & gas projects. You will apply ASME and design standards to deliver robust pressure vessel components and heat exchangers.

You will develop detailed drawings, perform FEM reviews, and address technical queries from clients and fabricators. Proficiency with PV Elite or Compress software is essential, and a mechanical engineering degree

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years experience in mechanical design for Oil & Gas or related industries.
  • Proficient in pressure vessel design per ASME Sec VIII Div 1/Div 2.
  • Heat exchanger design per TEMA and ASME Sec VIII Div 1.
  • Review of pressure vessel fabrication drawings per code and client specs.
  • FEA review of component designs for pressure vessels.
  • Expert in PV Elite or Compress software.
  • Ability to address client and fabricator inquiries.
  • Develop mechanical designs to meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Create detailed drawings, schematics and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of measurements, drawings and fabrication tasks.
  • Apply ASME and design standards to deliver robust pressure vessel components.
  • Perform heat exchanger design tasks and analyze equipment performance.
  • Review drawings and provide technical feedback to ensure compliance.
  • Engage with clients and fabricators to resolve technical enquiries.
  • Develop calculations and documentation to support designs.

Job Description

The individual in this role supervises, monitors, and coordinates the daily activities of employees within a designated work area. They utilize advanced principles, theories, and concepts to integrate activities and provide direction to small, moderate, or large groups, even if those groups are not within their core area of expertise. This requires a high level of skill and expertise in similar or related disciplines.

Must-Have Requirements

Minimum 8 years’ Experience of mechanical design in Oil & Gas or related Industry

Perform Pressure Vessel Design inline with ASME Sec VIII Div 1 and Div 2

Proficient in performing Heat Exchanger Design as per TEMA and ASME Sec VIII Div 1 Vessels

Review Pressure Vessel Fabrication Drawings inline with Code and Client Specifications

Proficient in reviewing Finite Element Analysis report of component design of pressure vessel parts

Expert in using PV Elite or Compress Softwares

Ability to address technical enquiries and comments from clients and fabricators

Develop mechanical designs for mechanical components to meet specific project requirements and industry standards using manual calculations.

Create detailed drawings, schematics, and documentation to support designs.

Good To Have Requirements (That Supports future Career progression in the Role)

  • 1. Awareness on Pipe Stress Analysis basics and exposure to Caesar II Software.
  • 2. Awareness of rotating equipments like Pumps / Compressors.
  • 3. Awareness on API Tanks and Atmospheric Tank design
  • 4. General Knowledge of Design, 3D modelling and drafting software
Qualifications

Engineering Degree – Mechanical / Experience in Mechanical Engineering
