Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain production-grade Java and Spring Boot applications, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Translate functional requirements into technical designs, plans, and maintainable code.
• Build service integrations with versioned APIs and resilient communication patterns.
• Develop data-access components and optimize SQL for relational databases (MySQL, Oracle).
• Partner with architects and teams on scalable microservices architecture, observability, and performance.
• Produce automated tests; investigate defects; improve code quality and reliability.
• Participate in peer reviews, design discussions, release planning, and continuous improvement.
• Use Git, CI/CD, Jira to plan, build, test, release, and trace work through the lifecycle.
• Apply secure coding practices including authentication, authorization, input validation, and secret management.
• Create and maintain API/design docs and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate with product owners, QA, DevOps, and global teams; communicate risks and progress.

This role is suited to a hands‑on senior Java engineer with strong Spring Boot and microservices experience. You will contribute across the delivery lifecycle-from technical design and API development through automated testing, deployment, production support, and mentoring teammates.

Education / Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
• Minimum of 7-9 years of professional software or systems-development experience, with substantial hands‑on Java development experience.
• Experience delivering enterprise applications in an Agile, cross‑functional environment.

Major Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain production‑grade Java and Spring Boot applications, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Translate functional and non‑functional requirements into clear technical designs, implementation plans, and maintainable code.
• Build service integrations using well‑designed, versioned APIs and resilient communication patterns.
• Develop data‑access components and optimize SQL for relational databases, including MySQL and Oracle.
• Partner with architects and engineering teams on scalable microservices architecture, service boundaries, observability, and performance.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong, hands‑on proficiency in Java and Spring/Spring Boot for enterprise application and service development.
• Demonstrated experience designing, developing, documenting, and consuming RESTful Web APIs.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed‑system fundamentals, and API integration patterns.
• Experience with Spring ecosystem capabilities such as Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, or comparable tools.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience, including PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle; ability to design schemas, diagnose query performance, and maintain data integrity.
• Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud deployment concepts.
• Hands‑on Node.js development experience.
• Proficiency with Git‑based source control, pull‑request workflows, and Maven or comparable build tooling.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and using Jira for backlog, sprint, and defect management.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills, including production‑issue investigation.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate independently across technical and business teams.

Good‑to‑Have Skills

• Experience with Angular and TypeScript front‑end development in applications backed by Java microservices.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger, API gateways, service discovery, and observability/monitoring tools.
• Experience with test‑driven development, JUnit, Mockito, integration testing, and code‑coverage tools such as JaCoCo.
• Experience designing or operating CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, including automated builds, deployments, and release management.
