Job summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking an Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst in Pune to contribute to new and revised application systems in coordination with the Technology team.

The role focuses on applications development, analysis and programming, delivering secure, scalable solutions to meet business needs. The candidate will lead in Java/J2EE, Spring and related technologies, participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, and mentor junior analysts.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of relevant experience as Java Full Stack Developer
• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning and risk analysis to meet business needs
• Monitor and control all phases of development including design, construction, testing and implementation
• Analyze complex problems, evaluate business processes and industry standards
• Develop security measures in post-implementation analysis
• Consult with users and technology groups on issues and propose advanced programming solutions
• Define operating standards and processes, ensure compliance and risk controls
• Serve as advisor to new or junior analysts
• Operate with limited supervision and exercise independent judgement
• Act as SME to senior stakeholders
• Assess risk in business decisions in line with Citigroup policies and ethics
• Strong experience with Java/J2EE, Spring, GIT, Oracle
• Experience with Redhat Linux and container tech (Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS)
• Expertise in REST, Microservices, Oracle databases
• Jenkins and UI tech (JSP/HTML/JS/CSS)
• Github/Github Copilot, CI/CD, IntelliJ IDE

Job description

The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
• Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
• Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
• Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
• Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
• Strong experience in Application Development products including Java/J2EE, Spring framework, GIT, Oracle.
• 5+ years of experience in Engineering of Services and usage of the mentioned products and Infrastructure Technology delivery with a proven track record of operational process change and improvement.
• Strong working knowledge on Redhat Linux and Container platform technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS etc).
• Strong expertise in Java/J2ee, Spring Framework technologies, Jasper framework.
• Strong background in developing REST services and Microservices architecture.
• Experience in Database technologies including Oracle .
• Hands on experience using continuous integration services like Jenkins is a plus.
• Hands on experience on UI application development using JSP, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS.
• Good Knowledge on Github, GITHub Copilot, CI/CD pipeline and Intellij IDE.

Recommended Qualifications:

• 8-12 years of relevant experience as Java Full Stack Developer
