Job summary

Allegis Group in Pune, India, is seeking an experienced Java software engineer to design, develop, and modernize large-scale enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Microservices.

You will work in a POD-based Agile environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and drive code quality and reliable delivery across complex systems. This role focuses on modernization of legacy code and adopting modern practices to improve productivity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on Java development experience.

Role & responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Microservices.
• Contribute to the modernization of legacy Java applications, including migration of legacy code to Spring MVC and modern application architectures.
• Develop scalable, reliable, and high-quality solutions for complex enterprise-grade systems.
• Work within a POD-based Agile development environment, collaborating with developers and multiple cross-functional teams.
• Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, consistency, and technical delivery.
• Participate in application design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver solutions within agreed timelines while maintaining quality and productivity.
• Support knowledge sharing and mentorship within the development team, particularly by guiding junior developers.
• Leverage modern development practices and productivity tools such as Copilot to improve development efficiency and delivery quality.
• Contribute to technology initiatives involving the development and modernization of large-scale, business-critical systems.

Preferred candidate profile:
