Job summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our Technology team in Pune. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining Java-based applications within a microservices architecture, with a strong emphasis on concurrency and robust software design.

You will work closely with the team to analyze requirements, build scalable services, and ensure code quality through best practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5-8 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on Java.
• Advanced Java Knowledge: Core Java concepts, data structures, algorithms, and OOP.
• Experience with microservices architecture design, building, and maintenance.
• Strong Java concurrency and multithreading expertise.
• Experience with Spring Framework, particularly Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with Git version control.

Job description

The Senior Java Developer role is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5-8 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on Java.
• Advanced Java Knowledge:Deep understanding of core Java concepts, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
• Microservices:Proven hands-on experience in designing, building, and maintaining applications based on a microservices architecture.
• Multithreading:Strong expertise in Java concurrency, including thread management, synchronization, and concurrent data structures.
• Problem-Solving Skills:Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a knack for debugging complex systems.
• Experience with the Spring Framework, particularly Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.

Preferred Qualifications (An Advantage)

• Database Knowledge:Experience with both SQL (e.g., MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Elasticsearch , Redis).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of message brokers and event-driven architecture (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Understanding of API design principles (REST, gRPC).
