Job summary

Tech Data APAC seeks an hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to build and automate enterprise infrastructure platforms. You will work within an established architecture to deliver infrastructure through code—not tickets—focusing on automation, platform build, and scalable system delivery.

You will deploy VMware/Nutanix, Windows and Linux environments, and implement IaC solutions with Terraform/Ansible while scripting in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to build and automate modern enterprise infrastructure platforms. This is an engineering-first role focused on automation, platform build, and scalable system delivery. You will work within an established architecture to deliver infrastructure through code-not operate it through tickets.

What You'll Do

• Build and deploy infrastructure platforms:
  • VMware and/or Nutanix
  • Windows and Linux environments
• Develop and implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions
• Automate manual processes through scripting and pipelines
• Contribute to infrastructure lifecycle activities:
  • Deployment, upgrades, scaling, and optimization
• Support and build Kubernetes / container environments
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to resolution
• Create and maintain engineering documentation:
  • Runbooks, LLDs, and handoff materials

Requirements

• 3-5 years of hands-on infrastructure or systems engineering
• Fluent in both written and spoken English language
• Experience building and deploying production infrastructure environments

Technical Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Terraform and/or Ansible (you have personally built infrastructure using these tools)
  • PowerShell, Python, or Bash
  • VMware and/or Nutanix
  • Windows and/or Linux

Exposure To

• Kubernetes or container platforms

Must-Have Capabilities

• You must be able to clearly demonstrate:
  • You have personally built and deployed infrastructure (not just supported it)
  • You have automated repetitive work using code or pipelines
  • You have worked in code-driven environments (Git, CI/CD)
  • You can clearly explain what you built vs. what your team owned

What This Role Is NOT

• Not a ticket-based or operations role
• Not focused on routine system administration
• Not a senior-level architecture or platform ownership role

Nice to Have

• Experience building or supporting Kubernetes environments
• Exposure to storage, backup, or disaster recovery
• Experience creating reusable automation or IaC components
