Job summary

Mizuho Pune is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to drive observability, automation, and AI-based resolution for Infrastructure Operations. You will apply SRE practices, interpret signals from VMware Aria Operations, and lead automation initiatives across Windows, Linux, and platform workloads.

Key responsibilities include reducing alert noise, developing reliable dashboards, and supporting OpenShift/Kubernetes environments in a day-2 operations context.

Role Objective

• Senior reliability engineering for Infrastructure Operations. This position will be leveraging observability data, automation, and modern SRE practices. Working knowledge of OpsRamp or equivalent, InfoSight, VMware Aria Operations (vSphere/Horizon), Workspace ONE, NetApp, and ServiceNow to effectively interpret signals, performance, and resiliency data. This role includes a strong AI understanding with automation and toil reduction mindset. MELT knowledge is critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply SRE principles (SLIs/SLOs, alert quality, incident reduction) across Infrastructure Operations.
• Use working knowledge of VDI and VSI environments and infrastructure platforms to interpret health and performance signals from VMware Aria Operations.
• Diagnose cross-platform incidents, including:
• VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter
• Horizon components (brokers, agents)
• Log Analytics
• Windows & Linux workloads
• Appliance based workloads
• Translate infrastructure signals into:
• Actionable metrics and alerts
• Observability pipelines (APIs, exporters, telemetry flows) into DataMart
• Platform-level insights for SRE consumption
• Development of AI Based resolution with strong automated based approaches.
• Partner with SRE / Operations teams to:
• Eliminate false positives and alert noise
• Improve dashboard accuracy and usability
• Drive proactive detection vs. reactive response
• Support OpenShift / Kubernetes platforms (Day-2 operations):
• Resource utilization & saturation
• Node stability and workload behavior
• Platform health visibility
• Develop and maintain automation solutions to:
• Replace manual alert remedation tasks
• Standardize repeatable workflows
• Improve reliability and response times
• Participate in platform-focused on-call rotation (limited scope)
• Required Skills (Core Expectations)
• Working knowledge of:
• Virtualization Layer as it relates to telemetry and observability.
• Strong foundation in:
• Linux (RHEL) administration and troubleshooting
• REST APIs (integration, data extraction, auth handling)
• Scripting (Python or PowerShell) for automation and telemetry
• Experience working with:
• Monitoring / observability tools (data interpretation focus)
• Incident triage across distributed systems
• Preferred / Nice to Have
• Exposure to OpenShift / Kubernetes environments
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar observability tooling

Educational Qualifications
