Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a seasoned GCP specialist in India to provide L2/L3 support for BigQuery, Dataflow, Airflow, Pub/Sub, and Looker. You will troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive preventive actions to maintain high availability.

You will monitor cloud environments, optimize BigQuery workloads, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure robust deployments.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of hands-on GCP experience with BigQuery and Looker.
• Strong production support, incident management, troubleshooting, and RCA skills.
• Expertise in BigQuery tuning, partitioning, clustering and workload management.
• Experience with data pipelines, distributed systems, and cloud-native apps.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 technical support for GCP Data Analytics platforms (BigQuery, Dataflow, Airflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Looker).
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform RCA, and implement preventive actions.
• Monitor cloud environments to ensure reliability and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve data pipeline failures and bottlenecks.
• Support incident management activities including triage and post-incident reviews.
• Optimize BigQuery workloads with tuning, partitioning and clustering.
• Collaborate with engineering and customer teams to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
• Manage IAM, VPC, storage, networking, and project configuration in GCP.
• Develop Python, SQL, and Shell scripts for automation.

Role & responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 technical support for Google Cloud Data Analytics platforms including BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Looker.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive actions.
• Monitor cloud environments using Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and tracing tools to ensure platform reliability and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve data pipeline failures, latency issues, quota limitations, and data processing bottlenecks.
• Support incident management activities, including triage, resolution, stakeholder communication, and post-incident reviews.
• Optimize BigQuery workloads through query tuning, partitioning, clustering, and performance best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering and customer teams to reproduce issues, validate fixes, and ensure successful deployments.
• Manage GCP services related to IAM, VPC, storage, networking, and project configuration.
• Develop and use Python, SQL, and Shell scripts for automation, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency.
• Document troubleshooting procedures, workarounds, knowledge articles, and RCA reports while supporting 24x7 cloud operations in rotational shifts.

Preferred candidate profile

• 4 to 7 years of experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with strong expertise in BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Looker/Looker Studio.
• Hands-on experience in Production Support, Incident Management, Troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for large-scale cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of BigQuery performance tuning, query optimization, partitioning, clustering, and workload management.
• Experience in troubleshooting and monitoring complex data pipelines, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, Shell Scripting, and automation for operational excellence.
• Good understanding of IAM, VPC, Networking, Storage, Quotas, and GCP Project Administration.
• Experience with Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Trace, and observability best practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud deployment practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with global customers and explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts and manage high-priority production incidents effectively.
