Job summary

Arm is seeking a FuSa engineer to join the Solution Engineering Group. You will drive safety activities across the product lifecycle, performing DFMEA, DFA and FTA, and ensure safety features meet ISO 26262/IEC 61508 standards.

Collaboration with hardware, software and product teams is essential to deliver robust automotive and industrial solutions. You will contribute to Safety Plans and Safety Cases, and help continuously improve development processes to achieve high quality and safety

Qualifications

• Extensive practical knowledge of functional safety standards and their application to semiconductors lifecycle.
• Experience with safety analysis techniques (FMEA, FTA, DFA) and risk assessment.
• Understanding of system design and how components interact within complex systems.
• Knowledge of RTL and RTL verification methods, and digital electronics concepts.
• Ability to manage safety activities within project timelines and budgets, and to collaborate cross-functionally.

Job description

This exciting new role is for the FuSa engineer position within the Arm Solution Engineering Group. You will be delivering outstanding solution products for one of the most extraordinary and successful companies!

Responsibilities

• You will support Arm Automotive projects from early development to successful assessment and certification, while working with engineering, product managers and other functional safety experts.
• Ensure the safety of a system or product by identifying potential failures, analysing risks, and defining safety mitigations throughout the product development lifecycle, adhering to relevant safety standards like ISO 26262 (for automotive) or IEC 61508 (for industrial applications).
• Contribute to the safety management activities such as Safety Plan, Safety Case, and the definition and derivation of safety requirement throughout the lifecycle.
• You will perform safety analysis such as DFMEA, DFA and FTA to support the safety architecture definition.
• Working closely with design teams to implement safety features and validate their efficiency, ensuring the system functions within acceptable safety limits even in case of failures.
• You will help the team to continuously improve development processes, achieving efficiency, robustness and excellence across Arm solutions, hardware, and software.

Required Skills And Experience

• Extensive practical knowledge of one or more functional safety, quality and cybersecurity standards such as ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, IEC 61508, ASPICE, etc. and their application to semiconductors lifecycle.
• Proven experience in various safety analysis techniques (FMEA, FTA, DFA), risk assessment skills, knowledge of system architecture, ability to conduct fault tree analysis.
• Familiarity with system design principles and how different components interact within a complex system.
• Understanding of RTL and RTL verification methods, tools. Good understanding of digital electronic design concepts.
• Ability to manage safety‑related activities within project timelines and budgets.
• Strong communication skills, and experience working collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
