You will own the design, development, and delivery of modern enterprise software across the stack—Java, Spring Boot, React, TypeScript—and modernize legacy systems with reusable APIs and AI-enabled capabilities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer based in India.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will take ownership of designing, developing, and delivering modern enterprise software solutions from initial concept through production. You will work across the full technology stack, combining Java, Spring Boot, React, and TypeScript to build scalable, reliable, and user-focused applications. A key part of the role involves modernizing legacy systems, improving architecture, and creating reusable APIs that support future integrations and AI-powered capabilities. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams in an international, cross-functional environment. Beyond hands-on development, you will influence technical decisions, improve engineering practices, and mentor other developers. You will also explore practical applications of AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining high standards of code quality, security, and reliability.

Accountabilities:

• End-to-End Software Development: Lead initiatives from initial problem definition and technical design through implementation, production deployment, and ongoing support.
• Full Stack Engineering: Develop modern frontend applications using React and TypeScript, alongside scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Legacy System Modernization: Replace legacy Oracle ADF/JSF interfaces with modern React and TypeScript applications built using shared design systems and reusable components.
• API Architecture and Development: Design and implement robust Java APIs that support application functionality, external integrations, and future AI-agent capabilities.
• Technical Planning and Collaboration: Partner with Product and Design teams to define project scope, timelines, priorities, and practical implementation approaches while identifying risks early.
• Code Quality and Maintainability: Improve existing codebases through refactoring, better architecture, increased test coverage, and sustainable engineering practices.
• Production Support and Reliability: Participate in on-call rotations, investigate production incidents, contribute to postmortems, and implement improvements to prevent recurring issues.
• Security and Deployment: Address security vulnerabilities, follow established development standards, and deliver production-ready solutions through CI/CD pipelines.
• AI-Enabled Development: Build and implement AI-assisted workflows, prompts, and lightweight agents to improve engineering productivity while carefully reviewing AI-generated code.
• Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Guide junior engineers through pairing, design discussions, and code reviews while contributing to technical decisions and continuous team improvement.

Requirements:

• Typically 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering substantial production software initiatives.
• Demonstrated ownership of the complete software development lifecycle, including architecture, technical documentation, implementation, coordination, deployment, and production support.
• Strong proficiency in Java, including Java EE and/or Spring Boot, with experience building scalable backend services and enterprise applications.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, with practical experience in database design and SQL. Oracle SQL and PL/SQL knowledge is a strong advantage.
• Hands‑on experience developing and deploying production applications using React, preferably with TypeScript.
• Ability to design and implement frontend applications using APIs you have architected or developed yourself.
• Experience modernizing or refactoring legacy applications while maintaining ongoing product delivery and balancing technical improvements with business priorities.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, testing strategies, code quality, and application maintainability.
• Experience mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and helping team members improve their technical capabilities.
• Daily familiarity with AI-powered coding and research tools, including an understanding of their limitations, potential errors, and appropriate use cases.
• Experience integrating Large Language Model (LLM) APIs into software products when appropriate.
• Strong communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to take ownership of complex initiatives, make pragmatic technical decisions, and communicate risks and trade‑offs effectively.

Nice‑to‑have qualifications:

• Experience with Oracle ADF or JSF.
• Familiarity with shared component libraries and enterprise design systems.
• Experience with AWS, particularly infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Domain knowledge in real estate, facilities management, maintenance, or workplace management software, including IWMS, CAFM, or CMMS platforms.
