Job summary

Persistent Systems seeks a seasoned Senior Frontend Developer to lead frontend architecture and delivery for global web portal solutions. You will mentor engineers, own performance, security, and scalable user experiences using React.js and modern web technologies, with on-site work in Pune.

You will guide teams across design, product, and backend to translate requirements into technical solutions, driving code quality, SSR, and CI/CD practices in an Agile setup.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of frontend experience with 4+ years in React.js.
• Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, OAuth/JWT, and modern tooling.
• Strong focus on performance, accessibility WCAG, and security.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Persistent Systems is seeking a seasoned Senior Frontend Developer to lead the design and delivery of high‑impact web portal solutions for our global clients. You will own the frontend architecture, mentor a team of engineers, and ensure the delivery of performant, secure, and scalable user experiences using React.js and modern web technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain complex React applications with TypeScript.
• Define and enforce frontend coding standards, component libraries, and UI/UX best practices.
• Collaborate with product, backend, and design teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead performance tuning initiatives, including bundle size reduction, lazy loading, and server‑side rendering where applicable.
• Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and estimation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 8‑12 years of professional experience in frontend development, with at least 4 years focusing on React.js.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Deep understanding of state management (Redux, Context API, or alternatives) and modern build tools (Webpack, Vite, Babel).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT).
• Solid grasp of web performance optimization, accessibility (WCAG), and security best practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (Jest, React Testing Library), and version control (Git).

Nice to Have

• Experience with server‑side rendering frameworks (Next.js) or micro‑frontend architectures.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker).
• Background in UI/UX design tools (Figma, Sketch) to bridge design‑development gaps.
