Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented QA ETL Engineer to validate data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouse solutions in a large-scale environment.

You will design test plans, execute validations, and ensure data accuracy across source-to-target mappings, while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in ETL/Data Warehouse testing, strong SQL skills, experience with Jira/Azure DevOps, and a solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing for ETL workflows.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Identify, document, track, and retest defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to understand requirements and data flows.
• Validate data warehouse, data lake, and reporting solutions.
• Support test automation initiatives for ETL and data quality testing.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Experience in test automation using Python, Selenium, or data testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
