Senior Research Analyst

Department: Research | Reporting To: Research Head / Head of Research

SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Senior Research Analyst to join our Equity Research team. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting in-depth company and sector research, developing financial models, generating investment ideas, preparing research reports, and supporting institutional and retail clients through actionable market insights.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, equity valuation, and investment research. Expertise in financial modeling and forecasting.
• Proficiency in Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, Reuters, DataStream, or similar research tools. Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and data interpretation skills.

CERTIFICATIONS

NISM/SEBI Research Analyst Certification preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -

EQUITY RESEARCH & ANALYSIS

Conduct detailed fundamental analysis of companies across sectors. Build and maintain financial models, valuation models, earnings forecasts, and scenario analyses. Generate investment recommendations based on company, sector, and macroeconomic research. Monitor market developments, industry trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes.

RESEARCH PUBLICATIONS

Prepare initiation reports, result updates, sector reports, thematic reports, and investment notes. Write special situation reports covering corporate actions, AGM updates, management interactions, company visits, channel checks, conference calls, and industry conferences. Prepare periodic market outlook and investment strategy reports.

CLIENT & BUSINESS SUPPORT

Support Sales, Broking, Wealth Management, PMS, and Institutional teams through research insights. Participate in morning meetings, weekly market calls, and client presentations. Assist in portfolio reviews and provide investment recommendations to clients. Interact with company management, industry experts, and market participants to gather insights.

DATA ANALYSIS & FINANCIAL MODELING

Perform valuation analysis using DCF, Relative Valuation, Sum-of-the-Parts (SOTP), and other methodologies. Conduct sensitivity analysis and forecasting exercises. Utilize financial databases and research platforms for data collection and analysis.

COMPLIANCE & QUALITY

Ensure research reports comply with SEBI Research Analyst Regulations and internal policies. Maintain high standards of accuracy, objectivity, and research integrity.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

CA, CFA , or equivalent qualification from a reputed institution.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3+ years of experience in Equity Research, Investment Research, Capital Markets, Asset Management, Broking, or Financial Services. Experience in financial modeling, company analysis, and preparing research reports. Exposure to client interactions and investment advisory support will be an added advantage.
