Job summary

Marriott International’s Marriott Tech Accelerator center in Hyderabad seeks a Senior Engineering Leader to guide a team delivering AI-powered Martech and digital experience platforms. You will bridge martech platforms with modern application engineering to provide scalable, high-performing guest experiences across Marriott properties.

The role emphasizes leadership, enterprise architecture, and hands-on collaboration with Product, UX, and Digital teams in a fast-paced SAFe environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software architecture, enterprise integration, backend systems, microservices, and modern frontend/micro-frontend architectures.
• Proven ability to lead end-to-end technical strategy and architecture for Martech and Digital Experience platforms across frontend, backend, APIs, integrations, and cloud technologies.
• Experience delivering AI-enabled enterprise applications, including integration of LLMs into cloud-native apps and microservices for conversational AI, personalization, and enhanced digital experiences.
• Strong experience with cloud-native development and modern DevOps in AWS EKS, Docker, CI/CD, GitHub, Harness, IaC, cloud migration, monitoring and production support.
• Knowledge of backend technologies – Node.js, Java, SQL, NoSQL, Spring Boot, Kafka, Spark.
• Ability to bridge business and technology with product, UX, Martech, Digital, Data, and enterprise teams.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring of senior engineers and offshore teams.

Position Summary:

Come join a dynamic Digital Web Engineering team in Global Technology at Marriott International. Lead a team of dedicated engineers to continue to enhance, evolve and transform the travel innovation platform for the future of global travel while transforming your career. Collaborate across multiple enterprise and digital disciplines in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment to leverage best practices and the latest cloud- native tools and technologies.

This role will be responsible for bridging Martech platforms, digital experience technologies, and modern application engineering to deliver scalable, personalized, high-performing customer experiences across Marriott digital properties.

Oversees day to day application development projects and software engineering for digital brand experience portal. Directly manages software engineers and project managers.

Champion of AI-first engineering, with hands‑on expertise in deploying advanced AI modeling approaches such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), deep learning, and generative AI to solve complex business challenges

Job Responsibilities:

• Managing Application Development Standards, Processes, and Tools
• Ability to foster a culture of experimentation, innovation, and responsible adoption of emerging AI technologies within engineering teams
• Works with direct reports to facilitate consistency of service delivery across client groups
• Facilitates compliance with the standard set of application development tools and processes that will drive consistency and predictability throughout the SDLC for all client groups including:
• SDLC standard tools and processes for both waterfall and agile development
• Estimating standard tools and processes, incorporating flexibility for small and large projects
• Deployment standard tools and processes
• Managing Day-To-Day Relationships with Teams
• Drives timely resolution of escalated service delivery problems and minimizes the impact of any client service delivery issues
• Responds to issues identified in project surveys or other feedback processes, to continually improve client satisfaction
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, and product engineering, including 5+ years in technical leadership and people management.

Required Skills and Experience :

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in software architecture, enterprise integration, backend systems, microservices, and modern frontend/micro‑frontend architectures.
• Proven ability to lead end‑to‑end technical strategy and architecture for Martech and Digital Experience platforms, delivering scalable, secure, high‑performance solutions across frontend, backend, APIs, integrations, and cloud technologies while driving modernization, technical‑debt reduction, engineering standards, and production reliability.
• Proven experience delivering AI‑enabled enterprise applications, including integration of LLMs such as OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini, Llama, or similar models into cloud‑native applications and microservices to enable conversational AI, intelligent automation, personalization, and enhanced digital experiences.
• Strong experience with cloud‑native development and modern DevOps practices in AWS EKS, Docker, CI/CD, GitHub, Harness, Infrastructure as Code, cloud migration, monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, performance monitoring, and production support.
• Strong understanding of cloud‑native architectures and microservices, including API orchestration, event‑driven architectures, customer engagement platforms, mobile/web frontend architectures, and enterprise system integrations
• Knowledge of backend technologies – Node.JS, Java, SQL, NoSQL, Spring boot, Kafka, Spark.
• Experience designing and implementing Digital Customer Experience and marketing solutions, including personalization, A/B testing, experimentation, customer engagement, analytics, and omnichannel experiences.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark, API gateways, backend services, databases, networking, authentication/security, and enterprise integration patterns
• Ability to bridge business and technology, partnering effectively with Product, Architecture, UX, Martech, Digital, Data, Enterprise Architecture, and onshore/offshore engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable technology solutions.

• Demonstrated experience working in a product‑based Agile delivery model, partnering closely with Product Owners and business stakeholders to develop innovative technology solutions for complex customer and business problems.
• Strong technical leadership and people‑management skills, including mentoring senior engineers and technical leads, establishing engineering best practices, and building high‑performing offshore engineering teams.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, prioritization, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, dependencies, and competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both business/Product leaders and technical/Enterprise Architecture audiences.
• Led the integration of large language models (LLMs) such as GPT, Google Gemini, and Llama etc. into enterprise applications, enabling conversational AI, and intelligent automation.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Adobe Experience Cloud/Martech technologies, including Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Adobe Target, Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), Adobe App Builder, Adobe Web SDK, Adobe Analytics, or similar enterprise Martech platforms is preferred.
