About the role

You will be part of the Roku’s multiplatform engineering teamandhelp with strategy, development, and optimizationformultiple streaming apps and features on platforms likeGoogleTV,FireTV,Samsung, Webetc.These appsdelightmillions ofviewers and are expanding at a rapid pace.

You will sit at the intersection of product, engineering, content,andmonetizationand drivinga seamless user experience,subscribergrowthand retention.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software,QAand automation engineers.

• Participate,contributeand execute the long-term vision for streaming applications acrossdiverseplatforms.

• Prioritize features based on data-driven insights, market trends, and business goals.

• Manage theP/SDLCfrom discovery and requirements gathering to launch and post-launch optimization.

• Oversee the implementationofapp features and integrations with video platform,browse, search, recommendations,Ads,and3rdpartySDKs(analytics, payment gateways).

• Drive engineering and operational excellence.Monitor appand playbackperformance metrics,andsystem healthKPIs.

• Evaluate architecturaland designtrade-offsforuser experience, availability,performanceand securitytowards delivering end user delight

• Help to drive AI first culture,processesand buildproficiencies.

• Work closely withproductteam tohelp with the roadmap,drive priorities, managetradeoffshelp withA/B testing, lifecycle management.

• Work closely with UI/UX designers to create intuitive,multi-modalinterface experiences.

• Foster a culture oftrust, transparency,ownership,accountability,innovationand continuous improvement.

• Manage relationships withinternal stakeholders,externalvendorsand platform partners.

• Manage andimprove processes,project priorities,deadlinesand deliverables.

• 12+ years proventrack recordin hiring, building and leading high-Caliberproduct engineering teams

• 8+ years of software development experience with deep technical knowledge andexpertisein building high availability, large-scale distributedsystemsand services

• Strong leadership,collaborationand communication skills in working with cross-functional teams across the organisation, and delivering on big and ambitious goals

• Experience with modernweb,hybridand nativetech stack(TS, JS,Solid,React, Node, Cordova,React Native, Flutter etc.) deliveringvery highscaleconsumer facing appsacross multiple platformslikeConnected TVs, Web and Mobile.

• Video Streaming domain knowledge, experience with container formats,e.g.DASH, HLS, CMAF, MPEG-4, etc., and DRM technologies such asWidevineand Fairplay

• Experience with Ad technologies and frameworks.

• Experience withsubscription lifecycle, payment integration a big plus.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Scienceplus10+years of experience or equivalent;Master'sdegree preferred.
