Qualifications

12+ years IT experience with strong technical and delivery leadership.

Experience leading enterprise transformation programs and global teams.
Strong understanding of modern cloud-native data platforms.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery of Databricks and Data Engineering programs.

Happiest Minds is looking for a highly experienced Senior Engineering Manager / Technical Program Manager with strong expertise in Databricks, Data Engineering, Program Management, and Engineering Delivery. The ideal candidate should have led large-scale data platform programs, managed cross-functional engineering teams, and successfully delivered enterprise data transformation initiatives on cloud platforms.

This role requires a blend of technical depth, delivery leadership, stakeholder management, governance, and people leadership to drive strategic programs across global teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Program & Delivery Leadership:

Own end-to-end delivery of Databricks and Data Engineering programs.
Define program roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and release plans.
Drive execution across multiple engineering teams and workstreams.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality standards.
Establish governance frameworks, delivery metrics, and executive reporting.

Technical Program Management:

Partner with Architects, Engineering Managers, and Product teams to drive successful delivery.
Translate business requirements into executable technical plans.
Lead architecture reviews, technical discussions, and planning sessions.
Manage risks, dependencies, escalations, and release readiness.
Ensure adoption of engineering best practices and delivery excellence.

Data Engineering & Databricks Leadership:

Lead enterprise-scale Data Engineering programs built on Databricks.
Oversee implementation of:
- Databricks Workflows
- Delta Lake
- Data Lakes & Lakehouse Architecture
- Data Pipelines
- Batch & Streaming Solutions
- Data Governance Frameworks
Drive optimization, scalability, security, and operational excellence.

Stakeholder Management:

Collaborate with Business, Product, Architecture, Engineering, and Customer teams.
Communicate program status, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership.
Manage customer expectations and drive executive-level discussions.
Influence decisions across teams without direct authority.

Team & Vendor Management:

Lead distributed and offshore engineering teams.
Manage vendors and external delivery partners.
Drive accountability, productivity, and engineering excellence.
Mentor Engineering Managers, Leads, and Delivery Teams.
