Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Functional Safety and ECU diagnostics specialist with hands-on experience in Vector tools, MATLAB/Simulink, and ISO26262 validation. You will work on engine, ATS, and drivetrain ECUs, validating diagnostics and HIL setups, and coordinating with global test facilities.

Strong CM tool exposure and CAN/LIN protocol knowledge are essential. Travel to global test facilities is expected; driving license is a plus.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Vector tools and OEM diagnostic suites.
Proficient in MATLAB, Simulink, STATEFLOW, Embedded C/C++.
Familiar with CM tools like PTC Integrity, SVN, Jira, GIT and DOORS.
In-depth ISO26262/diagnostics validation for Engine/ATS ECUs.
Knowledge of CAN/LIN protocols and ECU diagnostics.
Willingness to travel to global test facilities.
Experience in MIL/SIL/HIL validation of engine/ATS control software.

Responsibilities

Diagnostics validation & testing for Engine/ATS ECUs.
Set up hardware: oscilloscopes, loggers, ECU diagnostic benches and HIL setups.
Validate MIL, SIL, and HIL for ISO26262 safety requirements.
Maintain CAN DB and Diagnostic Description files (CDD).

Functional Safety (ISO26262), Engine and ATS functionalities & Diagnostics vehicle & HIL validation

Requirements

Hands‑on Experience on Vector tools such as CANdela Studio, CANDiva, CANoe, CANape and other OEM specific diagnostic tools.
MATLAB/SIMULINK/STATEFLOW/Embedded C/C++/targetlink
Good exposure to configuration management tools like PTC Integrity, SVN, Jira, GIT and requirement management tools like DOORS.
Excellent Exposure in Vehicle/Engine/ATS/Transmission/Drivetrain ECUs ISO26262/ diagnostics validations on vehicle
In depth knowledge of various truck powertrain components and systems, Truck driving license would be added advantage
Willingness to travel frequently to Global test facilities
Validate (MIL, SIL & HIL) Engine and ATS control software components and ISO safety requirements
Experience in ECU diagnostics validation and Knowledge in protocols ISO14229, ISO15765, SAE J1939, KWP2000, etc.
Understanding and working experience in generation and maintenance of ECU CAN DB, Diagnostic Description files (CDD files etc.)
In depth understanding of CAN & LIN protocols.
Diagnostics validation & testing
Experience in hardware debugging and setting up Vehicle measurements, oscilloscope/loggers, ECU diagnostic Test Bench set‑ups and HIL setups
Experience in development of ECU Diagnostic Software is added advantage.
Good Communication and interpersonal skills
