Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our team in Chennai. You will execute rigorous mechanical and electrical testing protocols on high-voltage components. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between mechanical durability and electrical performance, ensuring all products meet international safety and quality standards.

Job Description:

• High voltage laboratory – The first of its kind by a hardware manufacturer, the high voltage lab tests the corona and voltage distribution in face of stimulated conditions such as darkness and rain spray on EHV upto 600 kV
• Mechanical laboratory – This unit tests under extreme conditions, various aspects of EHV hardware fittings such as tensile, compression, torsion, bending, slipping and other mechanical testing of fittings.
• Vibration laboratory – We have an elaborate vibration testing laboratory for testing effects of vibration on insulator strings or V strings suspension, spacers, dampers and conductors, for up to 80 meters.
• Chemical analysis laboratory – The unit tests for precise chemical composition in alloys, dies and metal components, using highly powerful microscopes and Ozone apparatus.
• Electrical laboratory – The lab has a comprehensive testing mechanism for checking magnetic power loss, and AC/DC resistance

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in a Mechanical Lab or High‑Voltage testing facility.
• Technical Proficiency: * Deep understanding of high-voltage (HV) component behavior.
  • Familiarity with mechanical testing rigs and electrical measurement tools (Oscilloscopes, Hipot testers, etc.).
  • Experience in Failure Analysis and root cause identification.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, precise reporting skills, and the ability to work in a high‑pressure manufacturing/R&D environment.
