Job summary

Adani Power Limited in Korba, Chhattisgarh, India, is seeking a Senior Engineer_Techno Commercial (Buyer) to lead procurement and techno-commercial activities for power plant equipment and services. You will execute RFQs/RFPs, negotiate terms, and release POs while ensuring timely procurement to support operations.

The role requires 5–8 years in procurement with exposure to power/industrial sectors and strong vendor management. GCC coordination and audits are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management.
• Experience in procurement of materials and services for power plant equipment/spares (Mech, Elec, C&I) / AMCs / Civil / commodities / IT / HR/FMS.
• Experience in Power, Manufacturing, EPC, Infrastructure, Steel, Cement, or industrial sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Procurement & sourcing: execute procurement activities for materials, equipment, consumables, and services.
• Commercial evaluation: techno-commercial evaluation of bids and market trend analysis.
• Coordination & follow-up: liaise with internal stakeholders, track POs and expedite deliveries.
• Compliance & documentation: ensure compliance with policies and maintain records.
• Inventory support: coordinate with stores and planning to optimize inventory levels.

Senior Engineer_Techno Commercial (Buyer)

Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

• Execute procurement activities for materials, equipment, consumables, and services as per organizational requirements.
• Float RFQs/RFPs, obtain quotations, and conduct comparative analysis.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with vendors.
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with approved procurement procedures.
• Ensure timely procurement to avoid operational disruptions.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors to ensure quality and timely deliveries.
• Monitor vendor performance based on cost, quality, and delivery metrics.
• Coordinate with suppliers for order acknowledgments, dispatch schedules, and issue resolution.

Commercial Evaluation

• Conduct techno-commercial evaluation of bids along with user departments.
• Analyze market trends, pricing movements, and supply risks.
• Support cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives.

Coordination & Follow-up

• Liaise with internal stakeholders including operations, maintenance, stores, finance, and projects teams.
• Track purchase orders and expedite deliveries as required.
• Resolve procurement-related issues, shortages, and delivery delays.
  
• Liaise with GCC for timely floating RFQ, Conducting RA, vendor onboarding

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and audit requirements.
• Maintain procurement records, contracts, vendor documentation, and reports.
• Support internal and external audits related to procurement activities.

Inventory Support

• Coordinate with stores and planning teams to optimize inventory levels.
• Monitor consumption trends and support replenishment planning.
• Minimize stock-outs and excess inventory.

Qualifications

Qualification and Experience:
5 to 8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management.

Experience in Procurement of Materials and Services related to Power Plant Equipment / Spares (Mech, Elec, C&I) / AMCs / Civil / Commodities / IT / HR/FMS and should be ready to take up assignments of any category.
Experience in Power, Manufacturing, EPC, Infrastructure, Steel, Cement, or Industrial sectors will be preferred.
