Job summary

Renault Group in Chennai is seeking an experienced ECU integration engineer to architect and configure software components for Vehicle ECUs within the V-cycle. You will develop integrated models in MATLAB/Simulink and drive system-level validation and continuous improvement, collaborating with customers and suppliers.

You will mentor peers, deliver training, and stay current with AUTOSAR, MBD workflows, and cross-core communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in Model-Based Design using Simulink/Stateflow in automotive domain.
• Ability to develop and review requirement documents and test plans.
• Strong understanding of MBSD workflows and ISO 26262 concepts.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for integration and configuration of software components within the Vehicle ECU environment, ensuring seamless interaction across modules and compliance with system requirements throughout the V-cycle.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. 1. Develop Integrated Models in MATLAB/Simulink as per OEM requirements; handle activities independently and participate in peer reviews, design reviews, and validation.
2. 2. Understand requirements, align inputs with customer, and ensure adherence to standards, defined processes, guidelines, frameworks and configuration management practices; deliver projects meeting QCD targets with high autonomy.
3. 3. Create requirement documents, perform system testing, and provide feedback for system improvements and quality enhancement.
4. 4. Analyze and resolve issues, perform impact analysis, and implement preventive actions to avoid recurrence and improve system robustness.
5. 5. Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, guidelines, templates, and overall QCT (Quality, Cost, Time) efficiency.
6. 6. Interact with customers and suppliers to manage software integration queries and ensure smooth collaboration.
7. 7. Act as a global trainer by creating and delivering training modules; mentor junior team members and peers.
8. 8. Maintain strong awareness of latest technologies in software development and proactively build competencies through training and upskilling initiatives.

Key Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Model-Based Design (MBD) workflows
• In-depth knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture (SWC, RTE, Communication) aligned with ISO 26262 and SDV concepts
• Proficiency in Simulink architecture (Subsystems, model referencing, libraries) and overall model structuring best practices
• Expertise in signal flow, data propagation, Bus objects, and signal routing
• Strong experience in debugging integration issues, simulation errors, and use of Model Advisor
• Understanding of Basic Software (BSW) interfaces and ECU software stack integration
• Familiarity with Automotive OS, Multi-core ECU architecture, inter-process communication, and Task distribution across cores
• Strong knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN)
• Hands-on experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, RTW, SLDV, and MBD validation approaches (MIL, SIL)
• Exposure to custom libraries, S-functions, and TLC customization
• Proficiency in MATLAB scripting for model interaction, automation, and tool development

Educational Qualifications

• M.E./M.Tech in Communication / Electrical / VLSI / Embedded Systems

Relevant Experience

• 3 to 8 years of experience in Model-Based Design using Simulink/Stateflow (preferably Automotive domain)
• Experience in software integration with exposure to MATLAB scripting, Python, and automation tools
• Familiarity with Automotive Software Development processes, standards, and tools such as MAAB and AUTOSAR
