Job Summary

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputed institute with more than 16 years of experience in estimation, engineering coordination, front‑end & detailed design of structures/foundations for large industrial projects, preferably in Oil, Gas & Petrochemical plants. Experience in a respected engineering office or consultancy, exposure to Indian, US, Euro and other foreign codes/standards and local practices, and proficiency with 3D modelling and viewing tools such as S3D, Tekla, Navisworks, SPR, and structural analysis packages (STAAD Pro, SAP, ETABS, Midas, Ansys, etc.) is required.

Major Responsibilities

• Prepare or assist in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, proposals, design criteria, specifications, budgets and schedules for projects of varying complexity.
• Perform finite element modelling and structural analysis of steel and concrete structures.
• Review bid analyses and make recommendations.
• Prepare and/or assist in cost estimates, quantity take‑offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
• Review and check the work of junior team members and provide input for their performance evaluation.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Minimum 4‑year degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• Master’s degree in a relevant subject preferred.
• 16–20 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Broad understanding of major design engineering deliverables.
• Ability to plan, conduct and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work.
• Skill in resolving conflicting design requirements and challenging coordination needs.
• Competence in standard application programs, CAD, CAE tools and relevant software.
• Coordinate engineering effort between specialty groups, suppliers, contractors and other disciplines.
• Knowledge of engineering planning and control methods, including computerized methods.
• Understanding of other disciplines such as Plant Layout, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Geotechnical, and Construction.
• Knowledge of industry or regulatory codes, standards and design criteria pertinent to civil engineering.
• Experience leading a team of engineers and designers in EPC and/or large FEED projects.
• Capability to plan, assign, guide and monitor team members’ work.
• Capability to assure quality of design deliverables.
• Experience in flat slab and cheese slab design an added advantage.
• Exposure to modular construction an added advantage.
