Job summary

WSP India is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead the delivery of protection and control engineering for high-voltage substations up to 400kV. You will oversee protection philosophies, schematics, wiring diagrams, and SAS interfaces including IEC 61850.

Applicants should have an electrical engineering degree and at least 7 years of experience, with AutoCAD/Revit exposure considered an advantage. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success.

Job Description

Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments. Prepares project documentation within one’s scope of deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Secondary / Protection & Control engineering for EHV/HV/MV substations (up to 400kV) across transmission, distribution, generation, and asset replacement projects.


• Provide technical oversight and approval for key deliverables including:


• Protection philosophies and schemes (Feeder, Transformer, Busbar, Breaker Failure, Line, Generator, etc.)


• Protection & Control schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel GA drawings


• AC/DC system design, battery sizing, and distribution


• Substation Automation Systems (SAS) including IEC 61850, SCADA, RTU, and telecom interfaces


• Cause & Effect diagrams, interlocking logic, signal lists, and cable schedules


• Ensure completeness and functional integrity of assigned work packages and secondary systems.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution.


• AutoCAD and Revit exposure is an added advantage.


• Minimum of 7 years' experience in electrical design.


• Ability to work with a minimum of instructions and complete tasks independently.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs.


• Must possess a team player attitude.

BGV:
