Job summary

Eaton Technologies Pvt Ltd in Puducherry is seeking a skilled engineer to lead MV switchgear product design and development. You will drive innovation, compliance, and industrialization for VCB, RMU, AIS and GIS components, coordinating labs and prototype validation.

The role requires 4–6 years in MV product design, with strong CAD skills and a focus on robust, cost-effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BE in Electrical/Electronics Engineering required.
• 4–6 years of experience in Medium Voltage product design.
• Experience with MV switchgear components and associated certifications is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage product design and development of MV switchgear components.
• Drive innovation, compliance, and industrialization to strengthen competitiveness.
• Participate in design activities for VCB, RMU, AIS, and GIS within MV switchgear.
• Define and approve type and prototype test plans for MV switchgear components.
• Coordinate type testing with labs (KEMA, CESI, GCC Lab) and validate prototypes.
• Lead root cause analysis of failures and implement corrective actions.

Job description

What you ll do:

• Manage the product design, and development of critical components for Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgear. Drive innovation, compliance, and industrialization to strengthen the competitiveness of MV Switchgear portfolio.
• Active partcipation for product design and development of VCB, RMU, AIS and GIS design activities for MV Switchgear ranage . Drive innovation, compliance, and industrialization to strengthen the competitiveness of MV Switchgear portfolio.
• Product verifications of VCB, RMU, AIS and GIS design activities for MV Switchgear
• Define and approve type and prototype test plans covering MV Switchgear components
• Coordinate type testing with accredited labs (KEMA, CESI, GCC Lab) and oversee in-house prototype validation.
• Lead root cause analysis of failures and ensure effective corrective measures across both product families.
• Guarantee compliance with IEC / 100 / 102 / 103 / 200 standards as well as customer-specific and utility requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation supporting certifications, approvals, and type testing for both MV Switchgear projects.
• Utilize DFMEA and reliability engineering methods to strengthen robustness and long-term quality of Switchgear components.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, supply chain, electrical, and quality teams to ensure industrialization of components for both MV Switchgear.
• Collaborate with suppliers and RD institutions to localize and qualify components, reducing costs and lead times across both product lines.
• Able to anticipate problems and make the necessary proactive steps to prevent them
• Ability to take necessary and proper timely decisions.
• Deliver the required results in timely manner with required quality and cost.
• Must make a tangible difference to his area of operation. and exceed business expectations.

Qualifications:

Skills:

• MV Product design experinece-RVAC 11kV/33kV, VCB, AIS switchgear.
• Maintain technical documentation, project coordination, product certifications, and type testing for MV Switchgear products.
