Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior mechanical/chemical engineer with at least eight years in large projects. The role involves detailed engineering for pumps, turbines, pharma machinery, boilers and utilities, plus bid evaluation and vendor drawing checks.

You will lead a team, coordinate with piping, instrumentation and mechanical groups, and ensure adherence to codes and standards. You will engage with clients and lead offices, review 3D models, and contribute to productivity and schedule management

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering degree is a must.
• Minimum 8+ years experience in a reputed organization or a Consultancy, preferably with the following experience.
• Detailed engineering activities for pumps, cooling towers, compressors, pharma equipment, boilers, material handling, etc.
• Preparation of technical specifications and technical data sheets for equipment; bid evaluations; vendor drawing checks.
• Knowledge of unit operations (distillation, filtration, heat transfer) and design of heat exchangers and hydraulics.

Detailed engineering activities for various stated equipments such as Pumps, Cooling Tower, Compressors, Pharma Machinery, Boilers, Material Handling etc., Preparation of technical specification and technical data sheet for various equipments, Preparation of technical bid evaluation, Checking of vendor drawings/design w.r.t. specification/design parameters, Able to achieve target with quality norms.

Knowledge on unit operations like, distillation, filtration, heat transfer etc. Design of heat exchangers, pumps specifications, hydraulics calculations.

Knowledge on utilities system such as cooling water system, Boilers, Compressed Air and Instrument Air system, Nitrogen system etc.

Knowledge on tankages.

Sound knowledge of Bulk specialty gases,Inert & Hazardous gases, Toxic, corrosive, and flammable gases

Understanding of Exhaust abatement systems required by the specialty gas System

Storage of leaking cylinders in cabinets or cylinder caskets

Sound knowledge off Chemical Distribution Units

Sound knowledge of Chemical Waste system

Participation in 3D model reviews.

Knowledge of national, international codes and standards. Vendor data reviews

Should be able to lead and guide a group of engineers

Understanding of Project requirements like productivity/ schedule workhour control etc.

Have good understanding of requirements of the downstream groups like piping/instrumentation/mechanical etc.

Good communication skills, verbal and written so as to communicate with client and lead offices.
