Key Responsibilities
Specification & Design Development
- Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, and schedules for Transformers, switchyards, pooling substations, transmission lines, and interconnection facilities
- Define voltage levels, conductor/cable selection, tower/structure design basis, busbar configurations, and fault level requirements
- Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLD), layout drawings, and route alignment in line with project and grid requirements
- Incorporate CEA, CERC/SERC, CTU/STU, IEC, IS, and utility/grid code requirements into specifications
Grid Connectivity & Compliance
- Coordinate with CTU/STU/DISCOM for connectivity approvals, LTA/MTOA/GNA applications, and technical compliance
- Liaise for grid study requirements (load flow, short circuit, stability studies) and ensure plant compliance with grid codes
- Track and support connectivity agreements, feasibility studies, and system study approvals
Technical Evaluation & Bid Review
- Evaluate vendor/EPC technical offers for transmission lines, substations, and associated equipment
- Prepare Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), comparison sheets, and deviation matrices
- Conduct technical clarification meetings with vendors and recommend selection
Engineering Review
- Review GA drawings, SLDs, protection schemes, line route surveys, and tower/foundation designs
- Verify compliance with CEA Regulations, IS 5613, IEC 60071 (insulation coordination), and applicable grid codes.
Project & Vendor Support
- Support procurement and project execution teams with technical clarifications
- Coordinate with statutory authorities (CEA, CTU, STU, DISCOM, State Nodal Agencies) for approvals
