Job summary

A leading global technology provider in Mumbai is seeking a Senior Engineer in Oracle Database Administration. The successful candidate will design and manage database architecture, ensuring secure access and availability, while also implementing innovative solutions to optimize database performance. This role offers a hybrid working environment and requires experience in Oracle Database Administration along with a related bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Experience in Oracle Database Administration.
• Basic knowledge of basic Linux commands required for DB operations.
• Experience in installation/configuration/support for Oracle RAC and ASM.

Responsibilities

• Identify user needs to create and administer databases.
• Establish regular backups of databases and transaction logs to prevent data loss.
• Handle capacity planning, evaluate database server hardware.
• Responsible for installation, configuration, design, and data migration.
• Identify existing database issues and implement innovative solutions.
• Ensure that the database operates efficiently and without error.
• Resolve issues as they arise, maintain reported issues via ticketing system.

Role purpose

As a Senior Engineer - Database Administration, you will be responsible for the design and management of the organization"s database architecture to ensure secure access and availability in accordance with the needs of the business.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Identify user needs to create and administer databases
• Establish regular backups of databases and transaction logs as per defined processes to prevent data loss
• Handle capacity planning, evaluate database server hardware
• Responsible for installation, configuration, design and data migration
• Identify existing database issues and implement innovative data solutions and data management technologies
• Ensure that the database operates efficiently and without error
• Resolve issues as they arise, maintain reported issues via ticketing system and maintain Service Level Agreement Standards

Knowledge, Experience & Skills

• Experience in Oracle Database Administration
• Basic knowledge of basic Linux commands required for DB operations
• Experience in installation/configuration/support for Oracle RAC and ASM
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar related fields required.
