Job summary

Caterpillar invites a Senior Design Engineer to lead end-to-end mechanical design for Retail & Rental Gensets in Bangalore. You will oversee generator system design, base frames, enclosures, control panels, and cooling systems, using Creo for CAD modeling and detailed drawings.

You will validate with CAE tools and coordinate with cross-functional teams, ensuring design integrity and manufacturability. Regular global travel is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Automobile/Aerospace Engineering from accredited Indian or Global Engineering schools.
• Minimum experience of 10 years in structural design from concept till manufacturing.
• 3+ years of experience working on sheet metal design and handling large assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and development of Diesel and Gas generator sets.
• Develop and document functional requirements and translate into detailed design documents.
• Create CAD models and drawings for systems, sub-systems, assemblies, and components using Creo.
• Perform design calculations and validations using CAE tools; review drawings and support proto builds.
• Collaborate with SMEs and project leads across Electrical and Mechanical engineering.
