Senior Engineer, Mask Design

We are seeking an experienced Layout Design Engineer to join the 2.6B$ Power Business Unit where you will work on products such as isolated gate drivers, HV Gan power stages, LV GaN drivers and power stages, motor drives, solar inverters, EV traction inverters and chargers. This early-stage growth opportunity allows you to learn, build, and influence Renesas’s massive Power product portfolio.

Essential Functions

• Hands‑on experience in analog layout design at leaf, block, and floor‑planning levels.
• Self‑driven, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience layout of typical analog blocks such as gate drivers, charge pumps, comparators, amplifiers, band‑gaps, and linear regulators.
• Strong knowledge of analog layout concepts and care‑abouts like substrate isolation, ESD, electromigration, power/signal routing, and reliability.
• Natural team player who fosters a highly creative and productive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5 years of Analog Layout Design experience with DRC, LVS, and related flows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good understanding of IC processing (preferably BCD nodes), packaging, production test, and advanced IC CAD tools.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
• Expertise in Virtuoso XL, Calibre DRC, LVS & PEX, PVS, R3D.
• Collaboration with design and layout colleagues to minimize rework.
• Adherence to methodology guidelines to ensure IP portability across designs.
