Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced engineer to architect, design, and develop multi-processor multimedia and AI frameworks spanning CPU, DSP and NPU. You will build high-performance drivers and runtime libraries to unlock the full potential of hardware, using Linux kernel concepts, memory architecture, PCIe, and C/C++.

Collaboration with hardware, software, and QA teams is essential to ensure seamless integration and delivery, while you contribute to design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of software experience, or Master’s with 1+ year, or PhD.
• 2+ years programming in C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• Experience in embedded systems and Linux drivers is required.
• Experience contributing to Linux kernel/open-source projects.

General Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive development and optimization of Linux device drivers, firmware modules, and system-level components.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, software, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
• Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and technical documentation.
• Investigate and resolve complex system-level issues across hardware and software boundaries.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded systems, Linux device drivers, or firmware development.
• 4+ years of professional experience in C and C++ programming.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects, particularly in the Linux kernel community.
• Good understanding of system architecture, memory management, and performance optimization.

Preferred/Bonus Skills:

• Experience with RPC (Remote Procedure Call) frameworks.
• Familiarity with ARM SMMU (System Memory Management Unit).
• Knowledge of Linux DMA buffers and memory sharing mechanisms.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
