Job summary

Gradiant India Private Limited seeks a Senior Engineer, Instrumentation & Automation in Coimbatore to drive engineering for international and local projects. You will contribute to instrument data sheets, I/O lists, and wiring diagrams, ensuring design integrity and on-time delivery.

The role requires familiarity with control systems, field instruments, and documentation reviews; EPC project exposure and international assignments are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master in Instrumentation & Control or related field.
• Experience in water, chemical, power, pharma, or oil & gas projects preferred.
• Knowledge of instrumentation datasheets, I/O lists, and loop drawings helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, check, and issue instrument schedules, I/O lists, and hookup drawings.
• Review control room and cable tray layouts; assess DCS/SIS/BMS interfaces.
• Prepare instrument data sheets for valves, transmitters, gauges, and analyzers.
• Evaluate flow meters and various instrument technologies for projects.
• Support procurement through datasheets, RFQs, and vendor document reviews.
• Review P&ID, Cause & Effect Matrix, and control philosophies for projects.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation and Automation Engineer with less than 10 years of experience to join our Global Engineering Centre team to execute International and Local projects in India. The ideal candidate will have less than or equal to 10 years of relevant experience, with a preference for those who have worked in an EPC environment, international project experience.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare, check, and issue Instrument schedule / Index, Instrument I/O list, Instrument Cable Schedule, Cable Block Diagram, JB Interconnection Drawing, Junction Box schedule, Instrument Hookup Drawings, System Architecture Drawing and Bulk Material take off.
• Review of Control Room Layout, Cable Tray Layout, Instrument & JB Location Layout, DCS, SIS, BMS systems Loop drawings, Instrument Hook-up Drawing & Instrument Installation Drawing.
• Preparing Instrument data sheets for Control valves, On-off valves, PSVs, and other field instruments like Analyzers, Level, Flow, Temperature and Pressure Transmitters and Gauges.
• Familiar in all Flow Instruments like Orifice, Magnetic, Paddle, Ultrasonic, Turbine and Vortex Flow meters.
• To have experience in complete procurement Engineering cycle of field Instruments with Datasheet preparation, RFQ, Technical Query, TBE and Vendor Document Review.
• To have experience on reviewing Mechanical packages with Static and Rotating equipments.
• Review of P&ID's, Cause & Effect Matrix, Control Philosophy.
• Review of all 2D Drawings and 3D Model with navis.
• Interdisciplinary Checking with Process, Mechanical, Piping and Civil/Structural.
• Be responsible for the design and technical support of all hardware, software, instrumentation and controls elements as part of an integrated system for PLC.
• Collaborate with Technical project manager to plan and execute projects on time and on budgeted manhours
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and progress assessments to ensure project objectives are met.
• Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure that all Electrical designs and installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices. Conduct quality control reviews to verify design integrity and safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor / Master Degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Instrumentation, Instrumentation Engineering
• Water Projects, Chemical Processing, Power Plant projects, Pharmaceuticals, Food Industry and/or Oil & Gas Projects experience is preferred.
• Knowledge in WTP/STP/WWTP/ETP/UPW projects added advantage.
