Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated engineer for the SSD Validation Engineering team to shape and execute comprehensive validation strategies for Client SSD products.

You will collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and other global teams to drive product success and timely delivery. Ideal candidates have a strong background in PCIe SSDs, memory storage hierarchy, NVMe protocol, and Python scripting, with experience applying AI/ML techniques to large validation datasets.

Qualifications

• BS in an engineering subject area or equivalent.
• 4+ years of validation experience with ability to craft and implement test strategies.
• Deep knowledge of PCIe SSDs, NAND, memory storage hierarchy and NVMe protocol.
• Strong Python scripting experience.
• Apply AI/ML techniques to analyze validation data and identify patterns.
• Develop AI-enabled tools for failure triage, root cause analysis, and test automation.
• Ability to analyze problems, diagnose root cause, and apply corrective actions.

Micron is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated engineer to join our growing SSD Validation Engineering team. This team plays a critical role in the development and validation of Client SSD products, ensuring timely delivery to market and exceptional product quality. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional and global teams, including R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and other engineering organizations, to develop and execute comprehensive validation strategies that drive product success.

Responsibilities

Technical Ownership

• Understand product life cycle and associated industry standards.
• Reviews and challenges current test plans, coverage, and testing activities to drive both increased effectiveness and efficiencies across the product portfolio
• Recommend and instrument new validation approaches that drive better end-to-end coverage, more accurate testing, and expanded testing services

Requirements Analysis

• Thorough understanding of product requirements and develop adequate coverage
• Feedback & influence product design for the definition and implementation of new requirements/ performances
• Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope and delivery dates

Validation Strategy

• Definition of test cases to verify that functional and non-functional requirements are complying to system requirements
• Identification of PASS/FAIL criteria for test cases in term of number of cycles, statistical and temperature
• Enable shift-left efforts to move detection of failures from customer tests to internal-developed and maintained test frameworks

Test Implementation

• Define the Test Implementation Strategy and Software Architecture to encompass both development and debug.
• Define, plan and implement a test automation strategy, to supply to the ongoing development of in-house automation frameworks/tools.
• Constantly evaluate, refine and implement validation processes/methodologies

Test Execution

• Execution of Product Validation flow to match programmed validation plan
• Monitoring of test time – Test time reduction
• Results analysis – Bin Pareto
• Report Generation - Report data in a clear format including concise comments about findings
• Track document revision to provide historical reference.

Defect Management

• Root-cause and drive failures to a closure by working with associated teams.
• Implement systematic clear steps to reproduce failures while providing traceability to the bugs/gaps/escapes.

Qualifications And Skills

• BS in an engineering subject area or equivalent
• 4+ years of validation experience, with validated ability to craft and implement outstanding product test strategies.
• Deep of knowledge of PCIe SSDs, NAND, Memory storage hierarchy and NVMe Protocol.
• Strong Python scripting experience
• Apply AI/ML techniques to analyze large-scale validation and test data to identify patterns, anomalies, and quality risks.
• Develop and utilize AI-enabled tools for failure triage, root cause analysis, and test automation
• Ability to analyze problems, diagnose to root cause, and apply corrective actions
