RTX is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for our India Engineering Center in Bengaluru. You will join the Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles Engineering (MSEN) Design team to provide production and field support for geared turbofan and engine externals.

Lead design solutions, interact with IPTs and apply DFMEA, GD&T, and tolerance analyses. The role requires advanced mechanical design experience, strong communication, and hands-on use of NX, Teamcenter, and ANSYS.

Formación

• Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with gas turbine hardware design including externals/configurations.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools such as Unigraphics (NX) and ANSYS, plus Teamcenter and SAP.

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Design Engineer to work at our India Engineering Center campus in Bengaluru, India. The successful candidate will join the Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles Engineering (MSEN) Design team to provide production and field support for our Geared Turbo Fan and Operational Commercial engines. This could include components such as mounting, tube routings, brackets, support structures, bearing compartment support structures etc

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative and technically sound design solutions within program schedule milestones.
• Collaboration with multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
• Understand technical processes and design requirements of gas turbine hardware.
• Learn and apply sophisticated solid modeling and analysis tools in a highly proficient manner.
• Utilize standard work, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and other tools to continuously improve design processes.
• Embrace a continuous improvement philosophy.
• Communicate with team leadership and management on status and risks to program schedule and metrics.

Basic Qualifications

• Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 6+ years’ of prior relevant experience Or Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 8+ years’ of prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in design of tube, bracket and mountings
• Experience in gas turbine field especially in engine externals/configurations
• High proficiency in Unigraphics, MS Office, Teamcenter and SAP is desired.
• Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.
• Significant interaction with internal and external customers is expected.
• Communication skills and assertiveness are key qualities to possess.
• Experienced in Siemens tools such as NX, Team Center,
• Latest GD&T and its application on CAD models
• Experience in evaluating the failure modes using DFMEA.
• Proficiency in performing and reviewing tolerance stack-ups.
• ASME standards such as ASME Y14.5 – 2018, ASME Y14.41 - 2019 and other industry standards.
• Experience in analysis tools such as ANSYS APDL and workbench is preferred.
• Automated design optimization skills are added advantage.
• Candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Broad understanding of hardware, drawings and manufacturing methods.
• Green/Black Belt six sigma certification is also a plus.
