Job summary

Tata Communications is seeking an AI Platform Tester & Forward Deployed Engineer in Bengaluru. The role combines QA rigor with hands-on customer-facing solution engineering, validating AI platform capabilities, testing AI Workers, workflows, and end-to-end customer journeys.

The candidate will gradually take ownership of demos, PoCs, and customer-specific configurations, supporting customer engagements with strong testing and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of testing experience in QA/Automation or AI testing.
• Background in QA, automation, AI testing or solution engineering.
• Experience with customer-facing technology projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Validate AI Workers and agentic workflows end-to-end.
• Test AI/Conversational AI, APIs, integrations and platform configurations.

Job description

We are looking for an AI Platform Tester & Forward Deployed Engineer who will combine strong testing and quality-assurance capabilities with hands-on exposure to customer-facing solution engineering.

The role will be responsible for validating AI Platform capabilities, testing AI Workers, conversational workflows, integrations, and end-to-end customer journeys, while gradually taking ownership of demo development, PoCs, and customer-specific solution configurations.

Key Responsibilities

1. AI / Agentic Workflow Validation

• Test AI Workers, Agentic AI workflows, Voice AI, Conversational AI, APIs, integrations, and platform configurations.
• Perform exploratory testing to identify edge cases and unexpected AI behavior.
• Test complete business workflows rather than only individual platform components.
• Validate whether AI Workers correctly understand user intent, access the required knowledge, make decisions, invoke tools, and complete actions.
• Test exception handling, escalation scenarios, hallucination risks, and incorrect inputs.
• Build basic vertical and horizontal demos using existing platform capabilities.
• Configure AI Workers, prompts, knowledge bases, workflows, tools, and integrations.
• Support creation of customer-specific PoCs
• Convert business requirements into simple technical workflows.
• Configure demo environments and prepare realistic test data.
• Support customer demonstrations by ensuring the demo environment is stable and functional.

3. Customer & Field Support

• Participate in customer discovery and technical requirement discussions.
• Understand customer business processes and translate them into AI use cases.
• Support during workshops, PoCs, and executive demonstrations.
• Troubleshoot issues encountered during customer engagements.
• Capture recurring customer requirements and identify opportunities for reusable solutions.

Technical

• Basic understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, Agentic AI, Conversational AI, and Voice AI
• Understanding of APIs, JSON, REST APIs, webhooks, and system integrations
• Understanding of databases and data structures
• Familiarity with Postman or similar API testing tools
• Experience with Jira or equivalent defect/task management tools
• Understanding of cloud and SaaS platforms
• Basic knowledge of prompt engineering and AI evaluation
