Job summary

Fractal is seeking a skilled Data Engineer - Snowflake to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines. You will work with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and AWS to ingest data from diverse sources, enforce data quality, and optimize performance.

You will contribute to data modeling, governance, and collaborate with analytics teams to deliver reliable analytics capabilities across multiple business units.

Qualifications

• 4-9 years of hands-on data engineering experience in India
• 3+ years with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse
• 3+ years with Airflow or ETL/ELT orchestration tools
• 1+ year with dbt or transformation frameworks
• Experience building data pipelines in production environments
• Understanding of relational databases and data modeling
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices

Responsibilities

• Design and develop version-controlled data pipelines using dbt and Airflow on Snowflake and AWS
• Ingest data from diverse sources (REST APIs, databases, S3, Splunk, SFTP) following internal standards
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting to ensure pipeline reliability
• Optimize query performance and pipeline efficiency through systematic analysis and tuning
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, lineage, and dependencies
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members on best practices
• Troubleshoot failed DAGs and resolve production data issues with urgency
• Support feature enhancements and ad-hoc analysis requests from analytics teams
• Implement geospatial data engineering solutions for location-based retail analytics
• Ensure compliance with data governance and PII protection requirements

Data Engineer - Snowflake

Location - Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Mumbai, Gurugram, Noida and Coimbatore

Note - Immediate to 30 Days preferred.

Overview

Data Engineers will design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that power the CLIENTS analytics platform. They will work with Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, and AWS infrastructure to ingest data from multiple sources, transform it according to business requirements, and ensure data quality and performance at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop version-controlled data pipelines using dbt and Airflow on Snowflake and AWS

Required Experience

India Position 4-9 years of hands-on data engineering experience

• 3+ years with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse
• 3+ years with Airflow or ETL/ELT orchestration tools
• 1+ year with DBT or transformation frameworks
• Experience building data pipelines in production environments
• Understanding of relational databases and data modeling
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices
• Shift Timings could be 2pm to 11pm & 830pm to 530am and/or 130pm-930pm, 930pm- 530 am & 530am to 130pm.

Technical Skills

• Expert-level SQL: Complex queries, window functions, optimization
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks
• Strong knowledge of Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow
• AWS services: S3, Lambda, EC2, IAM, CloudWatch
• Understanding of data quality testing and monitoring
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization (desirable)
• Experience with geospatial data processing (GIS) is a plus

Education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• Master's degree preferred
